  1. Hi! I don't recall the exact application window, but I believe it was end of May/early June. They held a hiring event on 6/5.
  2. Hi! Thank you for taking the time to respond. I was getting nervous since I hadn't heard anything since early June and our start date is approaching! Yes, I received an email from Gail this past Friday as well regarding orientation. I also interviewed on 6/5 and was given an offer letter at that time. I was happy to get any information regarding what orientation and the upcoming training will look like. Hopefully we'll get more information soon!
  3. Hi, I wanted to get some information for those starting the residency program at Los Robles (Thousand Oaks). Has anyone heard from HR? Does anyone know the rate for shift differential? What does our orientation schedule look like? Does anyone have recent experience going through their residency program and want to share their experience? I haven't heard anything since I received an offer letter and I filled out the online requirements. Thanks!
  4. I don’t know how long they take to fill out forms if you dropped the needed info off. I’m using them to complete my form and it’s like an eight step process before they actually complete the form. It’s not quick. Maybe shoot them an email to check on your status and avoid delays? They’ve been responsive with me via email.
  5. They did! I think it was sent to your personal email. There is a zoom meeting tomorrow, 11/15.
  6. It was sent to my personal email.
  7. It was sent to my personal email.
  8. Check your emails. I just received my acceptance email this morning.
  9. Hi, I haven't heard anything back either.
  10. Hi there! This is my second time applying to PCC as well and I am nervously and eagerly awaiting any updates from the school. Fingers crossed we hear back by the end of September. I haven’t received any communication from the school since the email following my application. I’ll be sure to post if I hear anything. Beat of luck to us all!!
  11. Hello! Does anyone know how APU calculates their cumulative GPA for 2+2 transfers? Does the school only use the transferable units or all units? I spoke with a counselor but she seemed unsure and “thought” it was all college coursework. Just wanted to see if anyone has any insight from their own experiences. I have a BA from eons ago and wasn’t serious about school back then. I have over 60 units of coursework from 2018 to present with an almost 4.0. Unfortunately, if all coursework is included in their calc, I would still be below their 3.0 minimum. Thank you!
  12. Great! Thank you for the info @Increasinglyindemand
  13. Does anyone know what CONAH's policy is for repeating GEs? I have yet to attend an info session, but would like to boost my points by repeating some GEs I took by taking some classes this fall. Specifically, I'd like to retake English 1A & Speech (earned Bs in 2006). Also would like to retake Anatomy (earned a B in 2017). Not sure if the school honors repeats if it wasn't a F/W & I basically do not want to retake if it the classes would not be accepted. Thank you & good luck to all :)
  14. Hi pmc888, I rec'd my schedule for course sequence throughout the BSN program, not the detailed one for Term 1. I will be attending the LA campus as well and my advisor told me that that schedules for Term 1 will be given during reg & tech orientation. Hopefully my advisor is correct so we won't have to wait!
  15. Hi hgl22, We're on the same track! I received my schedule and should graduate June 2022 as well. I have orientation 2/28 & then reg/tech 3/27. I'm looking forward to getting started. I don't think that you we'll need to meet with FA again. Your question is one that I asked my advisor when we met last Fall. He told me that the price could change depending on what credits transferred over and that it would be finalized before the start of classes and reflected. You can always reach out to your FA advisor via email. I have on several occasions and received a reply within the day. Also, I recommend logging onto the student portal and under My Finances>Make a Payment Online you should have the option to make your first payment. The amount you are being billed should be the same or less than what you were quoted. Have you thought about taking the two GE courses at a community college? If I did that math correctly, it will save about $2800. A class did not transfer for me, and I will need to take ENGL 240 at WCU. I'm thinking about taking it at a community college but I don't want to delay my expected grad date.
  16. Anyone willing to share their experience with WCU's nursing core?
  17. Oh that is tough! I would explain your situation to your professors and see if any of them would let you take your exam(s) earlier. I think its at least worth a shot.
  18. If you are working FT, I would recommend only taking one at a time.
  19. Before signing up for classes, I recommend going on sites such as ratemyprofessor to see what students say about the professors teaching the class you are registering for. A lot of times, there will be pros/cons & tips past students have to offer. This could really help you in choosing a professor. I’d also recommend talking to other students to see if they could recommend someone. IMO, having the right professor really makes or breaks the class. I would bring a copy of the powerpoint lecture to class with each slide taking up half the page (so I could take a lot of notes) and I would record the lecture. As soon as I had a chance, I would listen to the lecture and take detailed notes on the powerpoints. I then rewrote my notes. I used different ink colors for things that were important and made acronyms to help myself memorize different things. From there it was a lot of repetition. I would simply read through my powerpoint notes then my rewritten notes a few times a day and quiz myself on areas that weren’t sticking. I think you will be surprised on how much you will be able to retain as soon as you find a study method that works for you. I always struggled with math & science in high school and college. When I decided to change careers and start with my prereq coursework, I was really surprised how much I enjoyed them and that I did well in them. I am a stay-at-home mom as well and my confidence and self care taken a dive. I know everyone is different, but being a SAHM has been the HARDEST JOB for me. I will say that when I was taking my prereqs I felt more confident and capable of my abilities. I think talking to adults, spending some time on things other than kiddos, getting dressed really helped me. Good luck to you. You can do this!!
  20. To start the application process you first need to go to an information session. I found this to be a total waste of time as you can find a lot of the info online and the person hosting my info session didn't know a lot, but you have to according to the school. Once complete, you will need to take the HESI or TEAS. Once that is complete, you will meet with an advisor & need to provide all of your transcripts. At that time, you will fill out a very long online application and then schedule a meeting with Financial Aid. Based on my experience, I'd recommend applying early. I called end of September and was told the January class was full for LA and Ontario. Their evaluation of transcripts is really slow. I turned everything in in October and was told that I would not hear anything back on what transferred until after January. You can get an idea of what will transfer based on their transfer evaluation : https://tes.collegesource.com/publicview/TES_publicview01.aspx?rid=af5b7235-ec8f-4f03-bf67-a934bc2f9639&aid=365848d2-c2a5-47f5-82f3-6f23a5a280da
  21. Out of curiosity, how much cheaper is Ontario than North Hollywood? I am starting at the North Hollywood campus in April, but would consider Ontario to save $$. I'm located pretty much in the middle of the two locations so either would work for me.
  22. You have a lot on your plate. Nursing school requires a lot and based on what you're going through, you may not be in the right space to be successful in it. As previous posters mentioned, nursing school will always be there. I think that if you are currently struggling with your prereqs, nursing school will be too much at the moment. Take this time for yourself and get back into things when you're ready. It takes a lot to recognize the need to step back. Don't be too hard on yourself!
  23. I still have not gotten any answers, but have been able to find out a little on my own. Do you have a student account through the school? If yes, you can log into your account via the student portal. On the left side go to Campus Info, then Course Availability. From there, enter the course name and you'll get the course schedule and even clinical location. Hope that helps ?
  24. I don't think that you will have any problems as long as you are able to cover the remaining balance of your tuition not covered by financial aid by private loans or on your own. As a previous poster mentioned, there are 4 mandatory GE courses that everyone needs to take through WCU. If you are able to transfer all other GE courses, you are looking at 5.5 semesters at about $17K/semester before FA. I will be attending the North Hollywood campus starting this April. I met with FA in November. You are given a projected cost which was higher (because they don't have your transfer credits completed during the FA meeting). More than likely, you will have several months to figure out how you're going to cover the difference. If I remember correctly, my FA advisor gave me 3 options: Personal loans, out of pocket or a combination.
  25. Unfortunately, still no answers. I'm very curious to get an idea on what to expect. Hopefully, someone will respond soon!
