Are all candidates required to take the Next Gen NCLEX exam? I.e. people who graduated in the years before this becomes live?

Is it possible to take the NP exam without having an RN license? if so what is the pathway to do so? Thanks!

This is great! What rate are they allowing you to bill at? 85% or more compared to the physician's rate? How many patients do you see on an average daily, and what kinds of treatment options are you offering?

How many years of work experience do you have to get to this level?

Unfortunately, neither chapter readings or any supplemental material did not cover them in any adequate manner, hence more than 50% of the class would miss it many times. The curve was still not good enough to get a good grade, just pass with a B or B+....this is for one of the classes. Now, how does one learn the topic if it is not going to be covered and then answer a question related to it. I do have a previous bachelors degree.

A small tiny percentage - dependent on the class from what I have learn't. Majority would be get b or b+. Because say you 1 class 35 / 50 questions (topics) are covered in the class. The rest 15 is you don't know how to answer it? So if you get say 32 questions right, the rest is like a poker game. Then they curve a bit and just will try to pass you. Another class 2.....it seems as if they are using a recycled course. Now, if I want to get an understanding why some of these questions may have multiple answers. The teacher will try to avoid you and say you are doing OK. Don't worry about it. I would like to get properly graded for my efforts, and if there are questions that have multiple answers please do firstly, try to explain why your answer is the only possible answer, and then I can tell you why I thought something else was a possible answer also (if your keyed in question is right). No you are bullying me and runs off to the higher up in the administration to complain about me and they call my behavior as being uncivilized, and a bully. So lost as to what I can, should do? What chances will I have to go through a review process higher up....if they are already acting so immaturely. These teachers just don't seem to care. And they award themselves with plaques of excellence in teaching.

Well, there are some classes that are problematic - due to the teaching style. About 6-7 classes for sure. Unfortunately, it is the teacher's mood that heavily play's into how a class will be taught. Others seem somewhat OK to some degree....

If they are complying....they should be able to make changes, so that things are objectively and rationally looked into.

Can anyone complain higher up outside the school....the board of education perhaps to have someone come in (from outside) to look at thinks objectively? One should not be at the mercy of bad teachers....bad schools.

Well, the school has the responsibility with whatever fee agreement that is in place - free, partial or full cost to provide quality instructors that will provide a good instruction so that one has the proper opportunity to succeed in the class. Having mediocre teachers is not right. The board of education should step in and make sure the schools are acting appropriately.

Can anyone please tell me what are the eligibility requirments to take the NP boards after doing a program? Is there a time limit to take the boards by or can one take it even many years after graduation? Also, is there a limit on the number of attempts? Can you please provide a link for your suggestions..... Many thanks for all your answers.

Thanks....unfortunately....the professors just want to get rid of you. And one hopes that more will join the movement. But fear of being written up, and then thrown out of the program (retaliation) is common which one learns overtime....no matter how strong a case you may have. So it is the teacher's mood one has to try to guestimate always....they are mostly all very moody and tricky and don't' want to work or think outside the box.

I feel that everyone....no matter how small the number of people.....whose opinions should be looked into seriously. As he/she or they did not get the support needed when problems occured. They in my opinion offer the true picture of what the teacher is like. Others may have just done things to pass by, and are glad it is over and done with. But they are others who really care for how they are taught and are more serious about their education and truly want to learn. So no one's opinion should be discounted.

What are some typical interview questions? What are the harder questions? ....that are asked in the interview. please do share your experiences.

Perhaps if there is an internal review of the professor/s at the school....like the annual survey results which you may have to find a way to access could be a good thing as well...but rate my professors can be useful.

I am so happy you can say that....because inspite of having this in place....there are a good number of classes where I have had my share of extremely bad teachers (overall). And it is a sad reality many of the students have had to deal with. Wish there was a way to fix this problem. Any suggestions anyone?

After all this discussion.....and there could be better ideas....as I have suffered and am suffering in my program due to their grading and appeals policy that is not properly followed (because firstly they don't want to entertain any appeals....and they want to just get rid of you, and if you try to talk to the teacher for further clarification she is does not want to bother about it and wants to go on her vacation/break or will accuse you of bullying and will have you suspended, etc). This is from a nationally ranked nursing program....Perhaps look at other ways I think....I tried looking outside the college and have not been successful. Are there any legal remedies or something else within the college/university whom you can try to talk to. l feel in my case since I am on the verge of being kicked out.....for no proper reason (given 2 warnings for not agreeing to what they wanted to throw at me....and it is wrong for them to treat me this way)....I talked to a few lawyers and they told me just to swallow the hard pill and get through the program. There is the risk of losing all the money and time you have invested in this program. I am just 4 classes away, and unfortunately, there aren't that many teachers who would teach a course. And one is stuck with just one professor. I wish I had know that the courses that they don't teach well is not because of not going over the material adequately, but because of the nonsensical attitude of these so called educators....which unfortunately makes it hard for us students looking to be taught properly and graded fairly. Sorry, I wish I could help more....and actually thank you for posting this question! It can perhaps highlight the problems in program/s. If you go into teaching go into it with a kind, open-minded heart not to make other's life miserable that they maybe tempted to pass along this anger to others later on in life.

But you do have the privileges of working in the ICU even though acute care may be the way in the future?

Can you work as a hospitalist as well? And ICU's?

How does one deal with such people? circumstances? when the system is biased (they want to collude against you)? Are there any outside agencies or other means one can appeal to for help? This is unfortunately wrong, and injustice....when you are paying to get a proper education and being trampled over because of bad teachers? Please do all share your thoughts about it. I am in a somewhat similar situation, but am solo on this.

Can you all suggest if an FNP can work in any of the surgical specialities, if so how can one do so? Does it require any further certifications? If so, which ones? Does it require one go to back to school to get the Acute care NP certification? Many thanks for all your kind suggestions!
