  1. That’s what I figured. Thank you for the info!
  2. I just finished completing my MAT plan, and I noticed that for the Summer courses, there is a Term I and Term II. The registrars office said that some courses run the whole Summer, and some only run for the first half. For those who are in the program or who have completed it, did you just take the one NURS 589 (Phys/Patho) course during the first Summer session? If so, did it run the whole Summer, or did it run for only the first half?
  3. I’m in!!! Praise God!! WHNP! CONGRATS to everyone! I can’t wait to meet you all!
  4. I feel the same way! Waiting anxiously while trying to stay positive and not check my email obsessively. ? Hopefully this will be the week!
  5. Yes!! I’m checking my email constantly.
  6. Yes, me too! I just found out this afternoon that I was accepted to a second school, which is great, but I need to let them know around April 1. I’ve already put a deposit down on one, but this second one trumps the first, but I don’t want to forfeit a second deposit. ??‍♀️ Don’t get me wrong—I’m super thankful to have options, but the waiting is getting more and more difficult, and I don’t want it to get more and more expensive. ? I'm reminding myself that God’s in control—it’ll work out. Let’s all keep encouraging each other. Here’s to finding out sooner rather than later! ?
  7. From what I understand from my interviewer, the interviewer writes up a report/review from the interview, and that is added as a piece to the admissions packet (with all our other submissions), and the whole thing is treated as a composite. That’s what I understand, at least. They have one person review your file in depth when submitted and make a report, a separate person do the interview part, and then the admissions committee looks at everything and ranks everyone and makes decisions.
  8. yes, me too, on both counts!! ?
  9. Mine changed today, too.
  10. Congratulations on your admission elsewhere! I was offered admission to another school at the very end of January, and I had only two weeks to respond. So I went ahead and accepted the spot there just in case, but if I’m accepted to Duke (my 1st choice), I’ll forfeit the other deposit and take the spot at Duke. It was a tough decision that my husband and I made, but we figured it’d be worth it in the long run. It can be a tough call! I wish we’d know about Duke by Friday. You could always wait till the last minute this week, I suppose?
  11. I got this response from Nora re: decisions: “Thank you for reaching out. We are in the process of reviewing all the candidates who interviewed including interviews that are finishing up this week. However as part of the review process, the DNP committee will also be reviewing candidates who applied to pBSN-DNP. Our goal has always been to release all MSN, PGC, and pBSN-DNP decisions at once to avoid any confusion. You will receive an email when the decision is posted to your applicant self-service account. We are doing everything in our power to have decisions out in the first two weeks of April according to the schedule. I do apologize for any confusion and appreciate the grace with timing through this interesting review cycle. ~Nora“ So I guess we’re in for a wait!
  12. Good morning all! I just emailed Nora in admissions to ask if admissions decision notifications would be delayed. I’ll let you all know here if/when I hear back with any info!
  13. Charharri4, it went pretty well, I think! Like many of the others have said, they had standard, mostly situational-based questions “how would you handle . . .,” “give an example of a time,” etc. The faculty member I interviewed with was not specifically a WHNP instructor, though he may teach some of the core/primary courses. It was a relaxed and friendly conversation, though, so no worries! There is time for questions at the end, as well. Best of luck to you!! I hope we will be admitted together and get to know one another!
  14. OK, interview done! ✔️ I’m excited and nervous and a little anxious. Phew! Back into the waiting game—good luck to all!
  15. Good luck everyone! My interview is next week. Did any other WHNP candidates hear about interviews?
  16. Natalie50, when did you begin the program? Those numbers were what they gave last August, but again, and as Nora said, I think it can vary widely! I think the main point that a lot of people were wondering about is that they don’t offer interviews to everyone, and they don’t offer admission to everyone they interview. So I guess we will all have to wait and see!
  17. As far as the pool of 25 original applicants and 6-12 admitted, that info pertained only to MSN students.
  18. Myischmo, I’m so sorry to hear that! I hope you are able to pursue other options and that we will all be fellow APRNs in the future! With regards to admissions percentages, I asked Nora about that a month ago. She said that she really couldn’t give numbers/percentages because it varies widely based on the applicant pool. But a couple other sources: 1. There’s an old post on allnurses somewhere (I can’t find the link now) that quotes Nora telling someone that a few years ago, they admitted roughly 60-70% (2/3) of those they interviewed. That’s old info and may have changed, but it kinda lines up with the next bit . . . 2. I watched the informational video for the WHNP program specifically for those applying for this fall term. The video was recorded last August and featured the director of the WHNP program and one of the admissions officers. The director stated they receive roughly 25 WHNP applicants each term, and they try to keep the cohort size between 6 to 12 at most. So if they only offer interview invites to half and then accept 2/3 of those interviewed, that would line up. But again, bear in mind that a) applicant pools can vary widely from term to term, and b) that info was specific to the WHNP track and may differ from other specialties/tracks. But there you go, for what it’s worth! ??‍♀️?
  19. PedsNurse30, See LauraG.’s post above. It worked! Thanks, LauraG.!
  20. Same here! I emailed the contact person listed on the email to ask for an active link.
  21. Did anyone else receive an email like this today?
  22. PedsNurse30, I received an email this afternoon saying that my application was "under consideration for a potential interview invitation."
  23. I just emailed back and forth with Nora (In admissions) today. She said that they are deciding whom to interview right now, and they will be releasing those decisions at the end of the month. She said that tentatively, final decisions will be made in March/April, but she said it depends entirely on the competitiveness of the applicant pool, so we will see! I also asked if she could give an idea of admissions rates, and she said she couldn’t, as it varies widely from term to term. Hoping for the best for all of us!
  24. Hello all! I’m with you in the waiting game! I applied for Fall 2020 on the WHNP track. My application status just changed to “Under Review” in the last couple of days. Good luck, everyone!
