My resume was about 5 pages. All relevant. My recommenders touched on different sections of the resume. So having all the pages puts things in perspective for the reviewer. I know for a fact it actually weighs in your favor at Penn. Not sure of other schools. Relevance is more important than pages. Best of luck !!

@nurseab2000 1. It makes complete sense to weigh all options. My situation is quite different because my financial aid is really good. I also plan to apply to a lot of external scholarships. There are lot of scholarships out there. 2. Penn is well known for Nursing. I at least know 3 seniors who have been offered 6 figure jobs while in school. The networking and opportunities make it all worth it. The faculty are incredibly supportive. And they are going to train you to be a leader in your field or specialty. Most Penn students go on to get their NP license or in research institutions. So if you are thinking of a school that prepares you for leadership position, reputation, and good networking, you should definitely consider Penn. 3. It could as well be that the other schools might offer you similar thing for less money. I always advise people to get the least debt especially with their first degree. Bachelor's degrees are usually not worth the huge cost but you must also realize a bachelor's degree in nursing or finance from Penns' school of nursing or Wharton can make a big difference when you get in the real world. 4. The schools you are considering are all great. Is time to check the education you will be getting against your pocket. People use different criteria but I'm confident you will make the best decision for you. Good luck.

@aspiringcnm3 So this is what I gathered for you. All decisions went out this week. If you didn't get a response at all (acceptance/rejection) , there is a chance your application is incomplete or put in the wrong folder. If this is true please email Filomena ASAP and let her know you didn't get a decision.

Just let us know where you decide to go. @Emilee Cheam depends on when the deadline for deposit is. You can bet on final decision after that because that is when they get to know total number of students who declined their offer.

@maroon2019 just the ABSN however some of your classes at the ABSN level will count towards your MSN. Lot of nuances so reach out to Filomena especially if you are looking for one quote for both programs. @aspiringcnm3 if you are start day is in summer you should get a decision this week. But I will still check for you.

@maroon2019 it depends on whether you are traditional or accelerated student. The ABSN is about 165K but there is lot of scholarships to offset that cost. That said even with scholarships you could still be in like 80K.

@aspiringcnm3 I think the traditional BSN/MSN has a different timeline because of the start date. I will find out the exact timeframe when I get on campus today. I will reach out this afternoon.

I know they do consider you for the ABSN if you didn't make it into the MSN program but since they didn't mention it in the rejection letter is worth asking. They had PhD interviews for PhD applicants today. Usually they find out a week after interviews. So I'm suspecting both ABSN and PhD decisions will come out next week. I suppose she has been very busy today coordinating. For sure ABSN is next week but not sure whether it will be on Friday or over the weekend. Find a nice beach and relax. Y'all will do great.

@nursesab2000 and @Riri35, ABSN decisions will be out first week in February. The school is very much aware of deadline for decision making for other schools. The weird thing about Penn is that it changes every year depending on who is on the admission committee. I can't speak to other programs like midwifery etc. Also if you don't the time line I just gave you, email Filomena and let her know the dilemma you in. Sometimes they can even use this opportunity to share the good news before official letters are sent out. It will all work out ? ?, give it one more week.

You can get into ABSN and not make it for MSN. However, if you make it for MSN you automatically make it for ABSN. So yes if you don't make it into MSN , they will definitely consider you for ABSN
