  1. How did you use UWorld to study the last time?
  2. Hi! I highly recommend UWorld as studying material for the NCLEX! I completed every question in the test bank as well as wrote down rationales from missed questions on content I may have not been the greatest at. There is also a note and flash tool within UWorld but I found it helped more to write it out. If you end up using UWorld, I wouldn’t recommend writing the rationales word for word bc you’ll have hundreds of pages of notes. After I wrote the rationales, I would re read the rationales until it was stuck in my brain and I could recite it from memory. I recommend that you divide the number of questions in the test bank by the number of days you want to study/ have before the test and do approximately that number of questions each day. UWorld gives you a variety of different questions types from sata, hot spots, calculations, and drag and drop. I will say that UWorld questions are increasingly more difficult that the questions on the NCLEX but I feel as if that prepared me well. my school also made us pay for Kaplan so I also used that QBank from time to time bc people said that Kaplan is more similar to the NCLEX. However, the rationales on Kaplan are far less superior to those on UWorld! hope that helped!
  3. I took my NCLEX this past Tuesday and my results were on hold when I tried to do the PVT. My exam cut off at 60 and I completed the exam around 45 minutes give or take. It is likely that because you finished so quickly that is why your results are on hold. I finished my exam around 12 and got the hold message two hours after finishing and until about 5 when I finally got the good pop up.
  4. I took the NCLEX on the 16th and my results were on hold. I did the PVT 2 hours after receiving the email and I got the same message you did. I tried the trick 3 more times after that and eventually received the good pop. I finished around 12 and I didn’t get a good pop up until around 5 that evening! I’m pretty positive that my results were on hold due to how quickly I finished. My test cut off at 60 and I completed it in about 45 minutes give or take. I have 13 sata and 1 calculation.
  5. Hello! I am not from Colorado, but I was on my Pearson Vue so I went and checked for you. From what I can see, there are dates available starting in July. I hope that helped!
  6. Thank you for the advice! Congratulations if the trick is accurate! Good luck on your new journey as an RN! My university used Kaplan and I am also using UWorld so hopefully that is enough to pass! I’m going to try and finish the entire question bank before my date. I plan on taking the UWorld self assessment sometime within the next week! I took the Kaplan readiness test that is suggested 2 weeks prior to your test date and got with the target range so hopefully I’m in right direction!
  7. How was it? I’m taking mine very soon and I am very nervous! Did you feel that UWorld prepared you? A lot of my classmates have said that it was similar to Kaplan. Did you try the Pearson Vue trick?
  8. LOL, that’s very accurate! I do not use the Saunders book either. We had to do the live Kaplan class as well as all of the question trainers and remediate for at least 30 minutes for my nursing program! So once I completed those, I purchased UWorld and have just been learning off the rationales! I’m very interested to see how it goes for you! I feel like the NCLEX is such a big question mark when it comes to possible content!
  9. I’ve been doing about 100 a day so far and then going back of the reading over the rationales that I have written down! I can only imagine how nervous you are! I’m very anxious to take the test and I still have a month left! I’ve been checking everyday to see if any new dates come up and there has been absolutely nothing! Oh I agree, Kaplan rationales are crappy. I’ve heard that the NCLEX is more similar to UWorld than Kaplan! And I did not. I am only doing the practice questions and rationales because that has proven to be the best way for me to study material. I have a friend that listened to them prior to accesses UWorld and it has helped her a lot!
  10. I know, so far. But I didn’t want to wait until September to take it at a center closer to me! OMG, you’re almost done! Did you get the one with the self assessment? I have also been writing down the rationales and it has helped me tremendously! I’ve also been jumping back to the Kaplan QBank because Kaplan questions are really hard to me and my scores have improved! My job has no mentioned pushing the start date back. If you don’t mind sharing, what hospital will you be working at? I will definitely be thinking of you on the 8th, I hope you do so well!
  11. I am in Georgia. Are you able to check the status of your application?
  12. I am not sure what state you are in, however, I graduated on May 15th and received my ATT on the 21st! I hope you get yours soon because dates are very limited!
  13. I just seriously started studying last week. I was doing a few Kaplan QBank questions previously but just transitioned to UWorld! I finally got my ATT today and scheduled for the end of June! That was the only date that I thought I could be ready by, however, the testing center is 4 hours away! Dates are very scarce. As of now, I plan to travel 4 hours away for the end of June! I just got my ATT today and the only dates available were May 28th or June 5th. The next availability isn’t until September!
  14. I have heard the availability in Georgia is very limited, at the moment. Those that are graduating in May and just now receiving their ATT are only seeing available dates for September.
  15. Hi! I am doing well. How about you? How is studying going? Oh no, that is awful. At my university, our degrees have not been conferred yet, so we have not been able to send our transcripts to get our ATT. Our department is also not sending a list of names to the BON until degrees are conferred as well. Therefore, I am expecting not to receive my ATT for another 2-3 weeks at least. What states have you looked at? I saw another post on here that said someone was able to schedule a time on the 1st of June in NC. It is kind of far, but I also have no clue what else to do if dates do not start opening up. I am suppose to start my job on July 13th.
  16. I haven’t even received my ATT yet! Is there any dates available anywhere else in Georgia?
  17. As far as I know, yes!
  18. I am about an hour and a half south of Atlanta. Have you tried Warner Robins? or Columbus, GA? I went to the one in Warner Robins because that was the only one open at the time. However, I know the one in Columbus has opened back up since then. Thee fingerprint machine broke a couple of weeks ago but I am pretty certain that it is fixed by now.
  19. I went to the one in Warner Robins, they are only doing fingerprints on Tuesday! The one in Columbus is also open now, only on Tuesday for fingerprinting.
  20. You are welcome! My school did not offer much information either. As far as studying for the NCLEX, I am doing Kaplan right now because we had to have it for school. I plan on trying to complete as much the Kaplan's Qbank as possible, and then I will purchase Uworld!
  21. No, I have not. From what I have read as far as the process for the NCLEX, after you register for you license, you have to wait for them to background check you and review your application. Once all of that is done, they will send the an authorization to test (ATT) and that’s when you’ll be able to actually set an exam date. I have been reading lots of forums on here because I am slowly getting more and more anxious about it. I have seen where several people had to reschedule for a much later date. I also recently saw a post where she said that by the time she got the ATT the dates were so spread out that it was either take it in 5 days or 4 weeks from then. I’m glad to hear that they are opening up more test centers, I want to test as soon as possible after graduation. If you don’t mind me asking, have you started studying for the NCLEX? If so, what programs are you using?
  22. Yes, that is where you apply for your actual license! That is what they want you to complete at least 48 hours after registering for PearsonVue and getting your live fingerprints done!
  23. You’re so welcome! Yes, I have registered for PearsonVue and paid the $200. I see the other comment about not paying until graduating and the board of nursing reviewing your application, however, everywhere I have read regarding GA board of nursing says that the fingerprints and registration with PearsonVue should be completed at least 48 hours before applying for your license!
  24. https://sos.ga.gov/PLB/acrobat/Forms/38%20Guidelines%20-%20Fingerprint%20Background%20Check%20for%20In%20State%20Applicants.pdf I completely understand! This is the pdf that I followed for the fingerprints! Since the governor is allowing businesses to open back up, I would check the fingerprint center near you. The one near me is opening up for fingerprints next week after I have already driven and hour and a half.
  25. Hey! So, I am also graduating in May and so far I have gotten my fingerprints as well as registered and paid for the exam through PearsonVue. The GA Board of Nursing website has steps that you can follow as well as links to applications that will need to be filled out. Here is the link to the website: https://sos.ga.gov/index.php/licensing/plb/45. Just a heads open, I have heard that there are only three live fingerprint sites open throughout the whole state of GA due to COVID-19. I personally drove an hour and a half to get my fingerprints done. Let me know if you need any more help!
