  1. Honestly you dodged a bullet! I’ve heard terrible things in terms of UOttawa nursing. It’s unorganized and horribly structured. I wouldn’t want to endure this through nursing school. Nursing school is already difficult to begin with. Don’t need added stress! wishing you all the best!!
  2. It’s probably them just now getting to your application and reviewing it to see if they can offer you admission but they haven’t made a final decision. fingers crossed you get in ?
  3. Congrats! May I ask what is your GPA? And also are you internal transfer(current u of c student) or external student?
  4. has any internal transfer student from u of c gotten an offer yet? if so mind sharing your GPA as well.
  5. yeah they usually start by admitting 3.8's then work down the list. surprised they're at 3.71 this early. anyways lets pray and hope for the best!!
  6. I hope COVID works in our favour and discourages people in accepting their offers and hopefully not a lot of people applied. since its this early and people with 3.7 are being accepted im very optimistic. usually in mid/end September 3.7's get accepted but I saw someone with 3.71 get accepted. I think the application pool is lower and also maybe with the COVID pandemic more seats will open because of even more demand since the UCP was supposed to cut nursing jobs but COVID kinda stopped it.
  7. wait so you are a currently u of c student or...? not following you mentioned transcript yeah I am a current u of c student doing the change of program. I wonder how many seats they have this year. usually the have about 20-25. wondering if COVID or the UCP impacted this
  8. any change of program (internal u of calgary) students here?
  9. Exactly! Everyone above 3.7 is basically guaranteed
  10. Just a disclaimer, Degree route and transfer route are different with each their own GPA cut off so just because someone from the degree route got in with a 3.7 doesn’t necessarily mean you will. There are more seats for degree route than transfer.
  11. You deleted your follow up comment but they don’t use the nursing undergraduate one. That’s for if you’re admitted into nursing and are taking nursing courses. They use the other one. They weigh your mark with the official university of Calgary standards. The one above this comment with the TD mortgage ad is what they’ll use!
  12. This question has been answered in previous forums for each admitting cycle at u of c. Refer to that or just contact the u of c office when you apply and they can tell you your GPA.
  13. I would honestly assume it’s less complétive bc no out of province and also no international. On top of that students are deferring their admissions and choosing to take time off from school because of COVID.
  14. I wonder how COVID will affect admissions for nursing students who are transfers as well as degree holders. Degree holder routes are more competitive. There are usually 25 seats reserved for university of calgary students transfers. With COVID and many students not knowing if they will be in Canada or even in the mind state to do school online, I am assuming many students will push their admissions to next fall. Has someone contacted admissions office to follow up on how COVID will impact seats?
  15. Hey, got rejected this morning with a 3.44 GPA. I am a transfer student. So if anyone has a gpa less than me and is tired of waiting, sorry to be the bearer of bad news
  16. heard anything yet from the ucalgary nursing faculty?
  17. Hey have you heard anything back yet? Or anyone....? Time is running out
  18. I ONLY go to the admissions officer that sends out the acceptance letters because all the other ones are basically no help. There’s a new advisor and she gives false information lol. Not to be mean or anything but only one of them actually knows what she’s talking about. I avoid the others at all cost. She said if you haven’t heard anything yet that means you’re still on the waitlist.
  19. Hey I asked her today in person, they DID add more seats. They added 5. In terms of which group gets them depends on gpa. She said external transfers got most of the offers because their gap’s are higher due to the fact they don’t have many seats. The offers that get declined and especially during this time they usually offer them to internal transfers because they have a better chance of accepting them. Degree holders is tricky because since they graduate early, seats are often tight knit.
  20. Hey may I ask if your gpa was under 3.4?
  21. has anyone gotten any rejection letters yet?
  22. I second that. Has anyone gotten in with a gpa less than 3.50 for the transfer route??
  23. Are you an internal transfer, external transfer or degree holder?
  24. I spoke to them today. Basically no movement on the waitlist for transfer students. 2 people haven't accepted their offer and she said they might open up 2 seats, so in total 27 seats. offers went out last week monday and this coming week on monday is everyone's deadline to accept or decline. If they decline they make their way down the waitlist and if anyone on the waitlist declines then it is given to the next person down. By the end of this coming week, she said they should have everyone registered and ready to go. so if both students who got offers and havent accepted it decline and they open up seats, that means theres 4 seats up for grabs so im guessing, top 5/top 6 will be getting those seats. Goodluck to everyone and hopefully we all recieve positive news.
  25. Sorry so they said for sure they’ll add more seats and by this week you’ll know if you’ve been accepted or not?
