  1. If I still lived in southern california I would do it.
  2. I was wondering if anyone is applying there and what are their total points/TEAS/etc.
  3. I would just focus on school and just pay the minimum each month. Then once 11 months are up put all of it in the CC once you start working.
  4. I'm trying to apply to 5 community colleges in the bay area. One of them, Hartnell College, just opened up their application for Fall 2021. The thing is, I'm currently debating whether I should apply or not. I won't have enough money to pay tuition in the middle of the program so I would have to maybe take out a lone. I'm scared this will stress me out because I had to work full time and this is why I didn't pass my previous nursing school program. I was in a ADN-BSN program and flunked out. (This was in Spring 2019 when it happened) Plus, I hate online classes. I can't focus and theres a likelihood covid is going ot delay that. I haven't taken my TEAS yet so should I still reapply to nursing school?
  5. I have nothing against NICU/OB/GYN, but it's my least favorite subject to learn in nursing school. Forgive me anyone for saying this but babies/maternity isn't as it all cracked up to be. I was in your shoes and despite everything going wrong. You have to keep going. You are so close, nursing is a specialty where you can go anywhere. You can be an OR nurse, Home health, etc. My previous boss guarenteed me a spot to work at her clinic and its a 8-5pm job. Whatever you do, don't lose hope.
  6. Hi there, I just got hired at a hospital as a float pool CNA and I suffer from G.A.D and clinical depression (depression/anxiety well controlled by meds). I'm honestly terrified because although I was a caregiver for 5 years, I feel being a CNA is a whole new level. I have 2 more days of orientation and just thinking about it makes me cry. I guess I need help toughening up because I want to be an acute care NP in the near future. My first day was a disaster. My CNA orienter left me alone with a 5150 and she went AWOL. I was not supposed to be alone with a 5150 on the first day and everybody knew this CNA is "rude/condescending". Most of the nurses were very sweet to me but this CNA kinda made me have palpitations. My second day was much better with a new CNA orienter(sp?). I learned so much but I have trouble with time management and with my pyxis (we used this system we must use to get beside commode/toothbrush/etc). It is a teaching hospital so we get many new grads on the floor. I have the weekend orienting for evening shift. How do I better prepare myself with time management? I was in nursing school but failed out so I'm a little familiar with how CNA report goes. But I still never done an ostomy (clean/drain/whatever) before. I try to manage my anxiety but I hate that I get palpitations and my hands get shaky. I plan on doing this for 2 years then head to RN school. Any help/tips?
  7. THANK YOU! Yes, I’m taking an emt/CNA course then retake the TEAS again to boost my chances. I’m going to apply for Hartnell and Evergreen for Fall 2022 because I want to save up and have a lot of debt to pay still.
  8. Hey! I’m applying to Hartnell too but in Fall of 2022 xD
  9. Did she speak with the charge nurse? What made her suspect drunk driving? I live in California.
  10. Is this still available?
  11. Evergreen Valley College? I want to know too. Although I won’t apply to the RN program until a year or 2 from now ?
  12. I’m enrolled in a CNA class for the fall 2020 and Spring 2021 I’m going to enroll into an Emt to refresh my clinical skills. I’m aiming to be an ER tech (my goal is to be an ER nurse) gain clinical hours and then go back to retake prequisite courses (maybe anatomy and eng 1b since I had a B in both)
  13. That’s why I’m hesitant on repeating anatomy or Physio. Although I saw Cabrillo and hartnell May do exceptions on repeats if they’re over 5 years. Thank you so much but I can’t move back to Los Angeles. I heard it’s more impacted there than northern Cali actually! Don’t know if it’s true though.
  14. Hi there, I recently moved to the South Bay Area from Los Angeles. I used to be in an RN program but failed out. I still would like to go for my RN but how do I make my application stronger? The schools I’m interested in are: Evergreen cc, hartnell cc, Cabrillo, Monterey, and Gavilan college so far. I'm taking a cna class to be certified. After that I’m thinking of taking EMT to refresh my anatomy and physio and be certified. I don’t know if it’s worth repeating anatomy and physiology because currently I have anatomy Grade B (taken in 2013) physio Grade B (Taken in 2014) micro grade A I’ve also been an Medical assistant for 5 years. Any input is appreciated. I haven’t taken the TEAS 6 yet either I only taken version. 5
  15. Let’s say if it happens, are you able to repeat the semester?
  16. I had to post because I felt like I was reading about myself posting this. My mom has paranoid schizophrenia and I had to have a job to support myself (including a whole family who suffers from anxiety/depression) I hate to break it to you. Prepare for the worse and hope for the best really. I know it’s gonna be hard (trust me I have also failed) but you just need to stay strong. My advice is awful I’m sorry but I will send positive vibes for you. Dm me anytime.
  17. Yes please! Can you scan and upload it in pdf and I’ll privately send you my email address?
  18. I’m still gonna apply I just haven’t gone to a counselor yet. Do you need to be cna certified? I’m having trouble looking at their criteria on my phone for some reason.
  19. I haven’t picked up the application yet they won’t even return my calls
  20. Yes I plan on applying a few RN and LVN programs. I’m more applying for the fall. Right now I’m thinking whether I should apply for a 27k tuition LVN program that’s has good hours or a cc LVN program. the 27k LVN program starts in July and I can save up. But it doesn’t have a skills lab. Which I want. the 6,500 tuition cc LVN program is I either in antelope valley or Pasadena and they’re both far but it’s cheap and I may transfer to the bridge LVN to Rn program because they get priority in application. It doesn’t start until like August.
  21. Thank you. gosh I hope I get in, I feel like my stats aren’t as great as the ones as you guys ?
  22. Hi there, Bakersfield adult school is one of the places I’m thinking of applying for the lvn program. Has anyone been to this program before?
  23. Hi there, I’m applying for fall 2020 coc Rn program. On the selection criteria it says DPC, what does that mean?
  24. Ah I see! That I did not know. It’s all the waiting game here then. It’s first come first serve or is there a waiting list? I read somewhere something about that but I’m not sure. I will also be applying to College of the canyons RN program, Los Angeles county RN, Pasadena LVN program, CES college LVN, and Marian college of nursing. at this point it’s so competitive to get in, I just wanna be in a nursing program to get a jump start on my career. Good luck to you too!
