  1. I absolutely love the program. I’m OMTA and my clinical is 10 min from my house (Houston). The professors are amazing, and my clinical preceptor said she wants to only take Vandy students from here on out. She said you can see a clear difference in how we are trained. I graduate in August, and feel I will be going into the workforce well prepared. I know Belmont is a good school too, but I’m obviously partial to Vandy.
  2. I’m currently in the program now (AGPCNP) and clinicals have restarted (so long as your clinical site allows). I’m not sure about block, but I do not see the May Block happening and we did not have March as planned. They have been great about creating virtual means of interaction.
  3. I’m finishing up my first semester. I’m studying for finals (or should be lol) today! This has by far been the hardest year of my life, and I don’t know where I’d be without Vanderbilt. My big brother passed away in October. The faculty and my classmates have been amazing, and having school to focus on during this has helped me to not allow myself to sit in my depression. I can honestly say that the faculty CARE about the students. They’re passionate about teaching us, and we are not just numbers or faces in the crowd. Vandy was the best decision I’ve ever made. Just know that it’s a lot of work, but if I can do it while working full time, with two kids, and with all of the other baggage this semester has brought... you guys will all be successful.
  4. I know it’s pretty competitive, but It’s all relative to the great program.
  5. There’s no way you’ll hear before February. They are expecting even more applicants than last year, and we didn’t hear until the end of February last year.
  6. They truly do look at you holistically. I also didn’t have any experience, I applied before I graduated with my BSN. I’m working full time now, and in school full time (holy crazy!) I wanted to make sure I had a couple of years experience on the floor prior to graduating and becoming an NP. it’s a great school and the professors care so much. happy to answer any questions you may have/that I can answer. Good luck to all!
  7. Sure! I had a 3.87 undergrad for my BSN. They truly look at the entire person, and your statement of purpose matters.
  8. Hi all! I’m currently in the MSN program at Vandy. This is my first semester in, and I remember how anxious I was about the application process. I can say that we did not get our decisions until the 22nd of February.
