  1. Yes! Were you able to make your schedule?
  2. So that course (CHM 111) is probably most comparable to a basic general Chemistry, but the CHE 112 is likely more of a fundamentals of organic/biochemistry for nursing. I know someone taking CHE 112 and it seems pretty easy. You should look into whether or not you can take it at Molloy over this Summer!
  3. Hey guys! So the CHE 112 course is really just a basic intro to organic and biochemistry for nursing majors. The “true” organic Chemistry at Molloy is CHE 200, so don’t take orgo at another school over the Summer! I would definitely call the school and see what will satisfy the requirement, because it’s only a 100 level Chemistry class. With all or most of the prerequisites completed before the start of the program, the BSN should be exactly two years. I’m unsure about how long the NP portion is.
  4. I applied to SBU’s accelerated program, interviewed, but was ultimately rejected. I went to Molloy for my medical assistant certification training and I absolutely loved it. It’s very expensive but it’s an amazing school. Everyone I know that’s went there loved it! I received my acceptance letter in early February. I also got into Suffolk, but will attend Molloy because SCCC is an ADN. Congratulations on your acceptance!
  5. Hi guys! I applied to SCCC too. My TEAS was an 82, but my rubric score was only a 75. I interviewed at Stony Brook but was ultimately rejected, so I really hope my rubric score is good enough!
  6. Hi! I don’t know for sure if the test needs to be done beforehand, but I would definitely do it before decisions have gone out. I know other schools require it as part of the application, so I think it would be helpful to have it done. The admissions rep told me over the phone that it should be about 8 weeks. I believe last year they found out starting in mid March. Good luck to you too!!
  7. They told me that they are only really looking at the Math and Reading sections. The minimum scores are a 78 for the math and an 80 for the reading. I don’t think there are specific pre-req courses as long as you have taken some biology and chemistry courses. They said that you can finish some of the pre-reqs while you are there if you are accepted and didn’t finish all of them beforehand
  8. Hey guys! I wanted to start a thread for anyone else applying to Molloy’s accelerated dual degree program for Fall 2020. I also wanted to share that I spoke to an admissions representative and learned that they are now requiring the ATI TEAS for admission. The Nelson Denny and math screening are no longer being given. Please reach out if you’re applying too!
  9. I know! I can’t believe that the decisions were just sitting on someone’s desk for so long. When is the add/drop deadline for the school you were accepted to?
  10. Me too. I still think it will be next week, though. Hopefully lol
  11. I remember you saying that! Which makes it worse that rejections were decided on and the notifications for them were simply not sent out yet. I feel like it’s cruel to make someone wait so long if it’s a rejection.
  12. I hope that that’s the case! I still feel like this is a long time to pick 80 of 160 people, though. I’m extra frustrated/nervous/everything else because I feel poorly about how my interview went and to have waited 3 months for a rejection letter would suck ?
  13. That’s true. But I know I’m going to ruminate about this regardless. It just helps to share my frustration with all of you guys ?
  14. I think they’re lying lol I think there was some kind of issue or change due in part to the new dean and they’re trying to pretend the delay is because of “volume”. During my interview they told me there were only about 400-500ish applications submitted, which is either comparable or less than previous years.
  15. That’s why this is so strange to me! And from my understanding, the class size is 80 students.
  16. I know. It’s probably going to be at least another two weeks. And they said they’ll go out until the end of January, so it could even be 3 or 4. This is wild
  17. This is interesting because they cite volume of applicants and documents as the reason for the delay, but there weren’t more applicants this year than there were last cycle. I’m also interested in whether or not they have abandoned the idea of sending rejections out first. I wonder if they will send out rejections mid January and acceptances later in the month.
  18. I wouldn’t think anything of it! This is what it said: “Dear Applicant, Due to the volume of applications and documents received, the School of Nursing will begin sending out Accelerated Program decisions in mid-January, and continue sending decisions through to the end of the month. The School is fastidiously working to ensure that decisions are processed as quickly as possible, and your patience is sincerely appreciated during this very busy time. Thank you. HS Office of Student Services Stony Brook University”
  19. That was originally the plan, but when I spoke to them, they said it was going to be delayed. They told me mid January over the phone. I really hope you are right, though!!
  20. I just realized mine was a little bit over 9 weeks ago ?
  21. One year they received acceptances Dec. 28th and one year it was the 27th. I know there is a new dean; I mentioned the timeline of past years to suggest that the office might not have been closed today. On the Health Sciences Student Services website, I believe it says they are closing early on NYE. I don’t believe the delay in decisions being released was intentional or anticipated. When I spoke to the student services office, they shared that they were originally following the same timeline as previous years, but were only recently notified that it was going to be longer. I’m going to assume it’s not going to be this week and try not to obsessively check my email for a few days, although I know I’ll probably fail in that ?
