FTCC Forsyth tech ADN 2022
Hey ladies! I just wanted to drop in and tell you about my experience at Forsyth Tech. The program is awesome. I was accepted into their Spring program in Jan 2020 and just graduated in Dec. The teachers really do their best to make sure you have a good understanding of the material, everything is organized and they WANT for you to succeed. I've heard some bad things about other schools, but the instructors here really were there for us to become good nurses. I wish you all the best and no matter how many ups and downs that you go through, just keep pushing. It's fast paced so your next two years will be extremely busy. Yall got this! Best ❤️

New Grad Entering ER
Hi RuralMOSchoolRN! I have a feeling that I'm going to be stressed out for a while as well and that puts me on edge some. Thank you for sharing the things that I can review ahead of time! I will certainly look into these things and try to have them under my belt. It sounds like you had an awesome preceptor who gave you the chance to be hands on and do things on your own. I hope that I can be blessed with the someone similar. How do you handle family members and patients when they are pushy or impatient... have you came across many difficult patients?

New Grad Entering ER
Thanks so much for your response and sharing what you have been through! I will be sure to ask question once I get started, my out rotations to the ED were only two short days and it went by fast. IV's will be something that I will have to work on, I still haven't started one yet and that makes me nervous. I'm thinking of watching some videos and hopefully that will prepare me a little for when the time comes. I do know the ED works as a team so that in itself makes me feel better. I just hope my skills and knowledge will come through and I can help as many people once I get in there and start working. And I will remember what you have said about my preceptor, our training is for 14 weeks and I really want to make the best of it.

New Grad Entering ER
Hello everyone I've been on this site for years and I have now passed nursing school and this is my first time making a thread. I am SO nervous about starting my new job in the Emergency Department. I accepted a position with a residency program and I was wondering if anyone has any advice to give to a new grad. Is there anything that I can do in the meantime to prepare.... any situations that stands out to you all that you have learned from? Any advice is helpful!

FTCC (Forsyth Tech) Spring 2020
Hi Holley! We had a few weeks to turn in our CNA and CPR information into Castlebranch. Our orientation was in the Middle of October and we had to have our shot record, flu shot (if needed), CNA and CPR submitted and loaded into the system before the due date which was a month later.... the catch is Castlebranch takes their time approving this information so the safest way to go about this is to have it completed early. As far as CNA and CPR info certifications this hasn't been made 100% clear yet... theyve just told us that they know that the AHA has extended the CPR renewal dates for 120 days. I wish I had more info for you on that to share. Good luck with everything!

Sassy! Thinking back to how everything started LOL First off get all of your immunizations together.... bc we only had a few weeks to do this and for me it was hard bc I don't work in an actual health care setting yet. So make sure to have everything up to date.... Save a little money bc you will need to purchase a online account w Castlebranch in order to upload your documents, records and also submit your drug test and background check... Maybe all together youll need a few $100 Youll have to have your uniform purchased and embroidered as well so these little things add up quick. As far as the program the teachers are so helpful and really want their students to succeed, I am thoroughly enjoying everything.. the process is challenging and tiring but thats expected. I would brush up on your math if youre not good at that... look over some fractions and percentages maybe. Go over your A&P bc by the middle of the second month these things WILL come up again. The lungs, Kidneys, heart... all of this will go more into depth. I think the most important advice I can give is understand HOW you learn bc this program goes by so sooo fast and there is alot of material that you will be covering. So get a good handle on understanding how you learn best bc here its not just about facts but its also about applying all of the information you know, then choosing the best route and knowing what to do next. You have to think ahead of the game and that can be alot while learning. Get your rest now bc you won't be bored in the next few months, thats for sure. You will always have something to do and always feel like theres not enough time LOL

FTCC (Forsyth Tech) Spring 2020
Hi Holly! I'm excited for you, good luck with getting in for the fall semester! I'm honestly not sure how far they go down the list but there may be someone who falls short on getting the requirements done by the deadline. Sometime that can knock you off the list, so just hang in there and pray for the best.

Thats the same thing mine is saying. Shows that the label has been created for the order but nothing has shipped. Im just worried if I go up there today they'll be sold out. If I decide to when I get off i'll update you all. Did you! Were they selling out of everything or did it look like they had alot of books in stock?
