  1. They take the whole “flipped program” so serious. Congrats on getting in but you have a difficult journey ahead here. You will be very knowledgeable I will say because it is tough. Advice tip: Since the faculty aren’t much help if you’re unsuccessful on an exam the only suggestion I can make is to review your exam. That seems to help! Use outside resources. Good luck!
  2. It’s very difficult. The faculty won’t really help you. Try to review any exams you’re not successful on.. Watch Youtube use all the outside resources you can. Good luck!
  3. I will PM you
  4. Is there a facebook group ?
  5. Hi! Does anyone or anyone that is currently going to the program can you tell me anything about this school and how you liked it and the requirements? I am supposed to be doing my third semester this Spring but I have some things that have prevented me from doing so at my current program. Who should I take to about transferring? Also, my main question is what letter grade do you have to keep ? For example, I had to keep Atleast a 78 or above for my current program. Dosage calc requirements? I had to get a 100 with three attempts and also exit HESI ? What is your exit HESI requirements do you guys have one at the end of each semester and what do they require you to make? Sorry this is a lot but I need to have a plan thank you!
  6. Not sure if I’m late.... but I go to el centro and it’s more like HELL CENTRO. Im trying to transfer out... I’ve done very well but mentally it’s made me a different person and I’m not 100% happy here.... PM me for more info if needed. Good luck I am trying to transfer to TVCC.
  7. Hi yes ! I have questions! I’m looking Into transferring here for third semester. I am supposed to be doing my third this Spring but I have some things that have prevented me from doing so at my current program. My program has the exact same course numbers as this one and I have all the pre-reqs to go here. Who should I talk to about transferring? Also, my main question is what letter grade do you have to keep ? For example, I had to keep Atleast a 78 or above for my current program. Dosage calc requirements? I had to get a 100 with three attempts and also exit HESI ? What is your exit HESI requirements do you guys have one at the end of each semester and what do they require you to make? Thank you so much
  8. Yes tuition does increase. It will cover books and some lab material I believe like skills kits. I did the opt out program so I do not have tuition increase but that’s because we already paid for our books, etc.
  9. You will be pretty busy especially being brand new to nursing school you will have to adjust but it’s doable. Just stay organized and study study. As someone said class was Tuesdays and Wednesday’s all day pretty much and Thursday or Friday you could have clinical.
  10. It was very interesting switching from in person to online to say the least LOL. For it being the first semester during such a hectic time, it went as well as it could go. Yes you do have clinical but very few since you will have 4 other classes along with clinical. Good luck in applying !
  11. Hi there I’m a current el centro nursing student going to be starting my second semester in the fall. But not sure if you know if I could transfer? Or how that works ? Thank you!
  12. Yes water resistant type. Black jacket. Lab coats can be worn to clinical only. They will tell you everything in regards to uniforms at orientation.
  13. Some people tried to do that but they didn’t allow it. You get what you get ??‍♀️ Black leather shoes are mandatory. I have 4 sets (long story) but I would buy two sets of scrubs because you will be wearing this everyday on campus. The dean will tell you specifics exactly what she wants you to have. The jacket isn’t required but I think it’s a good thing to have around. It’s pretty thin and light but I like it. You can’t wear it to clinical though.
  14. It will be different because it is online. I believe. You don’t get to choose your classes. It’s all chosen for you. They give you information about the program and the expectations etc... when I did it back in November we got lottery numbers and that’s how our clinical sites were chosen.... Luckily I got the clinical site I wanted but it’s first come first serve. Luck of the draw! Not sure how it will be done In Fall semester since orientation is online.
  15. You get a second try and you will remediate whether you Pass or not. After the second try if you are unsuccessful you will have an exit interview and will have to reapply.
  16. Clinical can fall on a Thursday or Friday you won’t know until you get your schedule. PNC is professional nursing concepts and HCC is intro to health care concepts. Yes 2 days a week without clinical. But a week you have clinical it will be an extra day making it 3 days that week.
  17. This semester they actually changed the way they did things for first semester students! This semester it’s Tuesdays are lecture (PNC/intro HCC rotate each week) from 7:30-9:30am (1 hour break) then 10:30-5pm is skills lab. Wednesday’s Is your main lecture HCC from 7:30-12:30 then you have skills from 1:30-5pm. Clinical are from 6:30-5pm . In first semester you don’t have many clinical days because of skills which is only in first semester. You have like 5-6 days out of the whole semester depending if you’re NL or ECC.
  18. CONGRATS to everyone! I am finishing my first semester up. LMK if any questions arise of what to expect any worries etc... just message me for any help. I hope COVID dies down so you guys get to experience your first semester this fall! You’re in, you did it! An accomplishment to be very proud of but the fight just begins! Its no longer a competition. Help one another you guys will be together for the next two years! Good luck to you all!
  19. Id like to add you said “HESI math” your math competency exams are separate and don’t count towards anything in your grades. You just need that 100% to progress. In first semester you take it in the middle of the semester and they’ll help prepare. By 2nd-4th all of your math exams are on the very first day you come back.
  20. Personally, I choose it Bc it’s closer for me and FREE PARKING unlike El centro. We have our own nursing building so it’s nice and calm, I like it. Everything is close together pretty much. My instructors were good here so far.
  21. I’m at Northlake campus.
  22. All of that information will be given in your acceptance letter. You will have orientation and on that first orientation you will get to “pick your clinical site”. Not really, it’s first come first serve by lottery pick.
  23. The HESI isn't scored like your lecture exams will be. It resembles how the NCLEX is scored. It’s not how many you get right per say it’s how the questions are weighted that will you you the points you need. Getting the higher weighted questions correct is what helps you. You need an overall score of 900 to progress in each semester. Hope that helps (:
  24. Sure! You will have an exit HESI each semester. This is nothing like the HESI A2 entrance exam. The exit HESI is comprised of everything you learned that particular semester including math. It’s 85 questions 10 are pilot, meaning only 75 count. This resembles the NCLEX. The math is pharm math (dosage calculations). Must know conversions and how to set up problems. You will get a book in your package to help with math and your skills teacher will help. I will warn all of you now the book package is about 3k to be paid in full all first semester. No you cannot do payment plans. If you qualify and use financial aid make sure it is set up ahead of time to help pay for it. Let me know if any other questions arise! Good luck to all of you! I’m excited to see you guys around next semester.
