City College SF FALL 2020
I am starting the nursing program as a freshman in CCSF for Spring 2021, so this weekend my parents and I are driving to San Francisco to look at housing options. Based on our research, a one bedroom in a shared home is around $1000 , could be higher or lower based on utilities. Thank You!

City College SF FALL 2020
Out of curiosity are there still people who sent in their signed confirmation and still haven't received a follow up email for Spring 2021? I didn't email her until now because I saw other people were also waiting for a response, but I'm starting to get antsy.

Thank you for sharing, this helps me and my other friend on the alternate list know where we stand. I'm still gathering intel, will let you know if I find anything else.

Fresno State BSN Spring 2021 Cohort
I am not quite sure for Spring. I've been doing a lot of digging and I was only able to obtain intel on this past fall 2020 admission cycle. The waitlist is normally 10-15 but for the fall cycle there were so many people that dropped that they increased the waitlist to 30 people. But then again 15 of those people had 4.0s, their cutoff was 3.9. Obviously the Spring cycle would have lower stats but I don't have any solid information about alternates in the Spring. I'm pretty sure that some alternates if any should receive an acceptance email either after the confirmation deadline on August 28th or after orientation approximately January 10-11. I heard that they can pull people off the wait list up to a week after class starts. Are you comfortable sharing stats? Here are mine: 3.64 Pre-Requisite GPA 3.62 Overall 84% TEAS They don't give out alternate list numbers for some reason.

Fresno State
Hello there, there are about 60 available spots for each admission cycle and a 10-15 person waitlist, though this number could go up depending on the volume of drops. The recent Fall 2020 cycle accepted 60 4.0s and still had 15 4.0s leftover, but the waitlist was increased to 30 since so many people dropped. The Spring cycle receives a significantly lower number of applicants since only current Fresno states and second baccalaureates are allowed to apply. I heard that the Spring cutoff for one cycle was as low as a 3.4, though keep in mind the cutoff GPA increased every year. To answer your other question, Fresno State looks solely at your pre-requisite GPA while only using your TEAS score as a tie breaker.

City College SF FALL 2020
Oh! I see, then it must be intro to chem! I did Chem 3A which is Intro to Chem at my college. Just wondering because I see that it's a requirement for the bridge program and I was hoping it did it already.

Does anyone happen to know what the equivalent for Chem 32 (Medical Chemistry) from CCSF is? Is it just general Chemistry? I can't find an equivalent on Assist.org

Hi! I got my acceptance for Spring 2021. Although I was quite surprised, I thought my points were quite low.

Least impacted community college RN programs
Does anyone know of the least impacted community college RN programs within California? I'm not confident enough in my GPA standing to put all of my hope in CSU BSN programs, and I know that even RN programs can be difficult to get into. I'm hoping to get into at least one Fall 2020 since I am finished with all of my pre reqs this fall 2019.

Asking for insight, await BSN admission or go for RN first?
Hello all, Here's a little background concerning where I currently stand. I am currently a pre-nursing student at California State University, Fresno. I have completed all of my pre-requisites except for A&P II which I will be completing this fall. I have received a B in Microbiology and A&P I, and I have an A in the rest of the pre reqs. I have the AP credit for English and Stats, but I am going to be taking them again this fall in order to boost my pre req GPA. I have also finished all of my lower and upper division GEs, as well as Fresno State's additional nursing requirements. Assuming that I receive an A in Eng, Stats, and A&P II, I will be sitting at an overall 3.71 pre req GPA and a 3.5 science pre req GPA. I have yet to take the TEAS, but I plan to do so later this fall. Outside of academics, I had worked as a medical attendant in a family home for severely disabled children for 5 months for 32 hours a week (hence, my C in CFS and my B in Micro) and an administrative assistant for a dentist (a small personal company owned by none other than my mother) for a little less than 2 years. I've also been volunteering at my church nursery caring for children 0-3 once a month for 6 years now. Overall, there was never a time that I wasn't unemployed since I was a senior in high school, so all of my classes were taken by working. My ultimate goal is to graduate debt-free, so school choices are limited to what I can afford to pay without taking loans (which I have done thus far). I currently live with my family in Fresno, so naturally, I will be applying to Fresno City's Lottery RN program and Fresno State's traditional nursing program fall cycle. I have seen the threads on this site for both colleges, and it seems that I am at a disadvantage GPA-wise for admissions. Also, Fresno City puts everyone in a pool for fall/spring so you are not guaranteed your desired term if you are accepted. I have family in San Jose and San Francisco so I've also been looking at schools there. These are the colleges I have been considering so far: RN: College of the Sequoias, Fresno City College, City College of San Francisco, Evergreen College BSN: CSU Fresno, CSU Fullerton, CSU San Francisco, National University (Fresno, cohort is only 9) My main question is: in the case that I am not accepted into Fresno State's BSN program. Should I wait another semester and apply for the spring cycle (FS students only) or should I get myself into an RN program first, start working, and then do an RN-BSN program? Waiting until the spring would mean that I would spend 1 year waiting (because I'm finished with everything). I do plan to get certified for phlebotomy starting January so I can work in the meantime, but I'd rather not prolong my education and be stuck living with my parents even longer. Also, any affordable nursing college recommendations would be much appreciated.
