  1. I used Suanders for my PDA phone, and basically studied everywhere and anywhere I went and had some free time to work on questions. http://www.skyscape.com/estore/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductId=1916 ~Margie
  2. I got 67% on the readiness and 63% on the diagnostic and passed with 75 questions last week. I was getting hig 50's to low 60's on Qbank. Hope that helps a bit! Good luck on the NCLEX! ~Margie
  3. I really can't say for sure. I took mine on May 17th and I got 23 brutal SATA's. My test shut off at 75 and I passed, but I felt the exam was very difficult. I usually breeze through nursing exams, but the SATA's were really slowing me down. Sometimes I would get a run of 2 or 3 otherwise every other question was a SATA. Good luck! I know another girl who got 25 and passed and someone else who got 3 and passed. I don't think you can really tell if you passed by how many SATA you get. ~Margie
  4. Hi All, I took mine on Saturday May 17th, I had a little bit of everything...peds, psych, med surg, 1 ob question, I had lots of meds (that I had never heard of), 10+ priority, 10+ Safety (correct safety precautions to use with particular disease/infection, who would you put with this patient), 3 math (easy! know mcg/kg/min flow rates and BSA) and get this....23 SATA!!! It was rough!! It took me over 2 hours to take 75 questions...the SATA were brutal! One SATA asked me what meds given for a particular disease would I question (not common diseases or meds) Yikes! I left with a huge knot in my stomach and thought I had failed when it shut off at 75. I found out I passed on Tuesday morning and I could not believe it. I didn't believe everyone when they told me I would feel like I failed when I left. I have never failed any exam, so it felt horrible! But yes you do feel like you failed. No matter how prepared you are, especially with that many SATA! I used Kaplan Qbank and Saunders 3rd edition to prepare for the questions and I felt that they were very similar to Kaplan. Good luck to all of you who are taking it soon!! You can do it!! Margie R.N. (finally!!!)
  5. I just finished my core RN classes on 3/21, got my IP on 3/26 (take NCLEX 4/23) and was hired even before my IP posted. I officially start on the 8th of this month. I started looking in late December and worked really hard in January filling out online apps, calling hiring managers and recruiters. My advice is to start looking ASAP and just be confident that you will get a job! It is not easy and I had to apply to many new grad programs before getting a call back. Get a resume together, along with a cover letter and have another nurse or instructor give you feedback on it. Submit it everywhere you think you want a job. It takes a month or so to hear back so start soon. New grad programs will fill up at around the time you graduate, the sooner you start the less you have to compete with everyone coming out and more likely you are to get a spot. Good luck!!!
