  1. I am an LPN worked as a Unit Manager in the Cincinnati area for several years, my last salary in 2005 (when I decided to get out of management) $60,000.00

I started travel last year and love it!! What companies are the best for LPN travel? I worked with Bestaff in corrections, and they are fantastic!! Benefits are good start day one, even though you have to pay for insurance. I really enjoy corrections (Med-Surg) Let me know of other companies.
  3. You are correct, I give everyone respect that is earned. LPNS and RNS become nurses for their own reasons!! The key word here is NURSE! As I have stated before, be the best you can be, the patient is our primary source of concern, not who may have the letters behind their name. Correct?
  4. I have an extremely, extremely strong personality to say the least. When someone tries to railroad me, so to speak they absolutely need to have "all their ducks in a row." I take no chances and try hard to go by the book, in particular when another feels threatened. I did have a half wit DON try to "write me up" (she was terminated) over a non-clinical issue. I laughed at her only because I knew I was right!! I will never teach someone, ask someone to do something or whatever unless I know I am right. Am I perfect? Absolutely not!! Always remember, ethical, moral and legal.
  5. Everyone has a right to their opinion. Personally I know my capabilities. Along with the extremely intelligent, well educated, people that promoted me to the positions/titles I have held.:wink2:
  6. Possibly!! I had a PT that was one of the the best.
  7. I suppose that will never happen.:monkeydance:
  8. I am not confused in regard to anyones "role" in any health care setting. After 30 years it would be kind of hard to be confused. After a Clinical Director of several facilities in the company I worked for was an occupational therapist! I have no patience with the RN/LPN fight I see here. I for one never met with this constant I am better than you attitude, iI did no one had the nerve to approach me with it. I have an excellent background in any nursing area I have worked in simply because I strive to be the best. Knowledge is aquired by the individual regardless of their title. Education is earned by hard work as a knowledge base to expand upon. Be the best nurse you can be and let the rest sort itself out.
  9. I have been a LPN for 30 years and held positions of ADON, Staff Development, Clinical Nurse Manager and Nurse Care Manager. Yes I have supervised RN'S. BUT, a clinical decision made by an RN cannot be overidden by a clinical decision made by an LPN. I was in the position to hire, staff, schedule, disclpine(under the direction of my DON) and terminate. I have educated many RNs new out of school with their appreciation. I think the position referred to probably follows similar guidelines. Legally I do not think an LPN can supervise RNS clinically.
