Yes you can take private loans for expenses beyond tuition. Make sure to look for fixed interest rate and try to get the lowest you can. Unfortunately, you will likely end up paying a large amount in interest before this is over. Also, take a look at your spending and see if there is anywhere you could be making cuts. There are many valid reasons to have CC debt, but it is often a pitfall for people to spending money they don’t have. Consider living off of cash. I went to cash to help me limit spending while I save for school. Most of us are guilty of spending money we don’t need to. and lastly, get yourself in the head space to be ready to aggressively pay down your debt when you graduate and start working. Good luck. Many people have had to borrow significantly more than you for their degree.

I think you are confusing criminal and civil trials. OP would be the one who would have to provide evidence to support her claim to monetary damages. The school/hospital (whoever was named in the suit) just has to poke holes in the case and demonstrate why this is not the case. It is unlikely a lawyer would take such an unfavorable case for what is likely a very small amount of money (I can’t imagine the tuition for 1 course is excessive).

Bingo. The fact that Tonyl1234 believe the hospital is culpable is all the evidence I need to know that they don’t have a clue what they are talking about. I also think the notion that people should become more litigious when they are at fault is disappointing. OP was given multiple warnings and did not heed them. While the punishment was strict it wasn’t uncalled for. OP messed up and compromised her own education. Neither the school nor the hospital is obligated to be lenient. OP I hope you take this in stride and finish next semester so that you can earn your degree and move forward. You’ve put years of effort into this and while this definitely sucks, you can persevere. Many students repeat courses and go on to have great careers.

Good luck you! I scored a 92, but the recruiter said average for last years admission was 82, which means people below that score were admitted too.

If I remember correctly, the recruiter said that last year's average teas was 82, and you are very close to that! I cant remember what the average GPA was, but I'll check my notebook when I get home. Your GPA is great. The recruiter said GPA is about 60% and TEAS is about 40% of the decision process. So that should be good news for you with your strong GPA.

Hey There! Good Luck too you! Only 2 more weeks until we get our decisions emails. :) I don't know if you went to any of their info sessions or talked to the recruiters. When i went they said for the BSN program they generally receive 300 applications for the 100 spots (so about 33% initial acceptance). He said that they generally wait list about 50 students. The first 15 on the wait list are very likely to be offered a seat as people decline theirs. The middle bit have a decent shot, and like 35-50 are unlikely to be offered a seat. So actual admission to the program is probably between 40% an 50%. Are you applying to any other programs in the area? I'll be looking at ODU for Fall 2020 if I'm not successfully in gaining admission to Sentara.

Well thank you for the vote of confidence. Yeah, their student success rates and hospital placements are major sells for me. I'm glad to here that they are flexible with schedules. I'm planning on trying to work part time while in the program. One more question for you, is there anything you wished you had reviewed or really had down from the prereqs before you started? I took A&P in 2016 so its been a minute, I did a lot of review for the TEAS. Or should I just take it easy so I'm ready to roll come January?

Thank you! I'm trying to get some info on what the typical class week consists of. How many hours are you in class? Is it typical to be working while in school or is that unusual? Do you feel like the work load is reasonable if you are committed to preparing properly? How are you liking the program thus far? And as far as admission goes, is it true that its just prereq gpa + teas score?

Anyone else applying to Sentara's program to start Jan 2020? I'm in the process of preparing for the TEAS right now. I can't wait till have a score to work with. Anyone have an insight to the admissions process? Or any info on how hard the program is once your in?
