TWU Nursing Applicants - Fall 2019
Honestly, I don't think 6 more weeks or class instruction would make that much of a difference. Patho is hard no matter what format you take it in. "Hard" as in time consuming not necessarily the actual content. Summers, I typically have less going on so I can focus more time into it. You might not be able to do that if you are balancing 3 other classes. Of course, this is strictly my opinion and my experience. I enjoy online classes more in general too. Plenty of people take Patho in the Fall with their other classes and are perfectly fine. Just do what works for you. Failing is below 72, btw. You have a little bit of leeway. I just figure that you have to take the class anyway, why not get it done earlier and in a shorter time? That was my logic.

TWU Nursing Applicants - Fall 2019
I am taking it online but with a different professor. I just wanted to get it knocked out early so that I have one less class to stress over in the fall. My financial aid is always loans anyway, so I decided to just take it and pay out of pocket. Less loans is always better. So far, I have no regrets. The class is intense and I can't imagine having it with the other 3 hard classes we have to take in the fall. Again, trying to lower my stress levels as much as possible. Hope this helps!

They have told us that we can only purchase from TWU. The white coat for the ceremony can be purchased elsewhere. I’m in Dallas. Idk if Houston is different.

Second degree
Hi there! I felt like I had to reply considering I have been in your shoes. I graduated with a BSA in Biology with a GPA of 2.3. (Obviously, I would do things much differently if I could go back but it is what it is) I have just been accepted into a traditional BSN program. I considered doing an accelerated program but the cost was too much for me. I'm not saying that an ABSN is out of the question but you are going to have to work VERY, VERY hard to make great grades to pull up that GPA. I was lucky in my program only considered the highest scores and gave me "preference points" for having a Bachelors already. I retook some classes and made straight A's in all of them. This helped me tremendously. I also scored well on my TEAS exam. If time is an issue, consider ADN programs or LVN programs. I say all of this to say, DON'T GIVE UP. If nursing is truly what you want to do, it will happen in God's time. However, you are going to have to work for it. If I can do it, so can you. Best of luck!
