  1. does anyone know if NCC allows applicants to take TEAS at home proctored or does it have to be at only at a testing center?
  2. does anyone know if NCC allows applicants to take TEAS at home proctored or does it have to be at only at a testing center?
  3. I'm applying also, but I haven't taken my TEAS yet. I think your score is great! Wishing you all the best of luck.
  4. Just saw it haha! I was reading further down in a different section. Thank you! I haven't taken my TEAS yet. I'm planning on taking it soon:)
  5. What is the Spring 2025 application deadline? I only see the website says theyre accepting applications for Spring.
  6. Anyone here apply to the LPN program?
  7. I'm glad to hear that. Support is important when going through nursing school! It's not easy.
  8. anyone know anything about students previously dismissed from other nursing programs if they're allowed to apply? I'm going to call in the morning but figured I'd ask here too.
  9. Very low chance of being accepted with little pre-reqs done. You're better off getting more done and then applying to NCC
  10. You'll learn about them in NUR 101. Nothing to worry about right now
  11. Super late reply! It is fast paced and you should keep up with your readings and consistently review your lecture notes and skills. Putting things off while taking other classes with NUR 101 will bite you in the butt. It's easy for work to pile up. Thinking like a nurse is a whole new world. We just started clinical and have plenty of work to prep for clinical and hw and concept maps that are due later in the week. The concept maps are A LOT.
  12. That’s correct. You grades are fantastic! No worries. There are people who got into the program who still had to finish 2 science courses.
  13. I’m not 100% sure. Based on previous threads I think it’s per section. The highest is 15 points per section depending on your grade. I’d have to come back to you on that because I haven’t started NUR 101 yet. We are currently doing ESC courses for our first semester
  14. Hey! Right now we are taking ESC courses. The History class is pretty writing intensive. We are moving into NUR 101 in the Spring semester.
  15. This info that I've gathered either from previous threads or from the nursing department. I have also included my grades for reference. These are my grades. I will put a R next to the classes I repeated for a better grade. As you can see a good majority of my classes have been repeated because I ended up with a C/C+ or withdrew! Please do not get discouraged over a "C". My suggestion to you is to retake this class over and work you butt off to get a higher grade. Study hard for your TEAS as well! I would also highly suggest having at least 8 out of the 10 classes done. AP 1& 2 I would say is a must before applying to the program. I have seen people rejected from the program for completing too little classes despite having all A’s! ENG 101: C+ R: ENG 102: B+ R: STATS: C AP 1: B AP 2: B R: GEN PSYCH: A R: LIFESPAN: A R: BIOMED: B+ R: MED MICRO: B PATHO: B TEAS: 75% *There are 24 seats for evening classes and 72 seats for day classes. *Classes are 4x a week either Mon-Thurs/Tues-Fri (2 lectures & 2 labs) *Clinicals 1x a week from 7am- 3pm So this is the quality point chart... A= 4.0 B+= 3.5 B= 3.0 C+=2.5 C= 2.0 When you calculate you will take the number of credits that your one class is worth and multiply that by the grade you received, which is the quality point grade that matches on the chart. I'll use a few of my grades for an example. AP 1 (4 credit course) My grade: B (B= 3.0 quality points) = 4 credits x 3.0 Q.P. = 12 points STATS (3 credit course) My grade: C (C= 2.0 quality points) = 3 credits x 2.0 Q.P. = 6 points BIO 131 (3 credit course) My grade: B+ (B+= 3.5 quality points) = 3 credits x 3.5 Q.P. = 10.5 points Keep in mind you get 10+ points for being a Nassau County Resident and 5+ points for never being in a nursing program before. I am not sure about the points for each TEAS section. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT WHEN APPLYING IT ALSO DEPENDS ON THE POOL OF APPLICANTS! EVERY SEMESTER BRINGS IN MANY STUDENTS WITH DIFFERENT KINDS OF GRADES AND GPA'S
  16. They are probably making edits to the website. You obtain your ASN first from NCC and you can sit for your NCLEX. You can then continue on to your BSN with ESC.
  17. My apologies! My notifications didn't come in for your comment. I am in the day program. Most students will be taking the ESC courses which include a sociology and history class before taking NUR 101. It is a requirement by ESC and NCC.
  18. Just swinging by to drop off some encouragement here ! I got in with a 75%! You got this! No harm in retaking it either! I retook mine twice!
  19. People that were accepted into the program were emailed acceptance letters. Decisions have been made already
  20. Personally I feel it’s better to have more classes done than less. But definitely study hard for whichever class you end up taking for the summerI honestly think you’ll be fine. Just do well on your TEAS.Personally I feel it’s better to have more classes done than less. But definitely study hard for whichever class you end up taking for the Summer. It also depends on the pool of applicants.
