Hello everyone, I am looking to study for the TEAS exam. I am currently taking prerequisite courses for ABSN programs. How did you study for the TEAS? Also, how did you make time for it with everything in life? Just tell me everything and any tips you have. How did you study for this and do well?! Thanks ?

This is kind of what I do right now....Sometimes I don't know what to do, but I think the nurses appreciate when I even just sit in the patient's rooms to give them company.

I began looking online. some hospitals require you to sign up on a certain day that's in line with their orientation. However, I found a position in a hospital that didn't have any specific orientation dates, and you could join whenever! Just look around on their websites, also call their office. Also, I went to my closest doctor's office and asked them in person if they need a volunteer, they said yes. I declined because I found something in a hospital, but just ask around is the best advice I can give.

Is there a lot of anatomy on the exam?!?! Ah I took this last semester but good to know it's on the exam, so maybe ill keep reviewing that information. Thanks!

What book do you recommend? Is that how you studied and got 85%? Just the book? Thanks ?

I'm using this channel's videos right now and wow, he is helping me through organic chem so much!! Good job on finishing the TEAS and your score. I will have to take some of these tips you wrote on. Do you recommend buying any materials? I see some packages online over $100~ or so, and I wonder if it's worth it!

Please don't give up. I know it seems like a far reach, I know you failed a few times and that it's scary to try again because you're afraid that you may not pass or may not be fit for the program. You have a high GPA, and I know you want this. I really hope you go for it. You need to find the study method that works for you. You are cut out for this. You are good enough, and you will succeed. Please keep trying, please go for it!! Good luck. I went through similar type of situation last semester but this doesn't have to do with the TEAS exam. I took anatomy and Physio and a psych at the same time. I never took a science course before so Physio was very hard for me and it was an extremely tough professor. I failed a lab exam, and couldn't get a high score on any exam. I thought about giving up. I thought nursing path wasn't for me. I sound dramatic but I was so hard on myself because it was such a tough class without a science background. I thought I wasn't good enough many times. I put in countless hours of studying even when I thought I wouldn't make it out with a good grade after all of that hard work. Somehow I passed each class with an A. With physiology it was by 1% getting that A, but I did it. I found a study method that worked for me by the end and I learned how to do well for that professor. I guess my advice would be never give up!! You are worth it, and even when you fail a few times, just please keep showing up. It's not a failure. You need to keep at it.

Okay thanks for the tip. Also I'm surprised there's no way to make your application unique besides GPA and TEAS score!! So it's purely based on how many spots they have then, even if you have a high GPA you still can be declined if there aren't enough spots? Ahh ok. Well I hope we get in!! I didn't even apply yet. Thanks for the tips and information. I know you'll get in!! I'll predict my points with your tip by looking on their site.

I would take the chemistry with the lab if it is a school you really value and would like to go to. I am applying to ABSN programs soon, and I'm noting a lot of them require an ethics course so I am considering it just to have more options when applying. You may want to consider this in your decision! I am in a chemistry and lab course right now and I recommend it only because it seems like this is building a foundation that I will be using later on in some nursing courses. There is some value in taking the chem course!! What did you decide on? If taking the chem course will set you back from applying when you wanted to then maybe it isn't worth it, however taking the course may open up some options for you....
