  1. Hi guys, I am also attending the interview event. Is everyone interviewing with 10 departments? Does anyone know how that usually works? I have no idea what to expect! Also- I am doing my video interview later tonight. Does anyone know how long it takes/how it is set up? Are multiple attempts allowed when answering a question? Yay for all of us!! Good luck to everyone!
  2. negative. I thought we were supposed to hear yesterday but nothing either way.
  3. Tracy greeted me and the other interviewees of my time slot (each of us was for a different unit). She is soooo nice and told us a little bit more about Vanderbilt and the program. I really feel like they try their best to prepare you so you are ready and not super nervous. My interview was with three people, one being a new grad resident 1 year into the program. That was definitely a comforting presence. The first half of the interview was general "about you" questions and the second half is behavioral based questions. I prepped an adequate amount (going through my old clinical reflections and researching some common behavioral based questions) and I was able to give good examples/stories for every question. They were typical. I'm a hot mess if I get thrown off in a setting like that, but I got through it just fine! At the end you are able to ask them any questions you have (and definitely have questions, it shows youre interested and that you care). They told us we would find out at the end of the week if we are offered a position (because our units were done with interviews then). Good luck all!
  4. Does anyone know when the app closes? Im applying to the BMT unit but currently waiting on reference letters
  5. I applied for a few different peds units in Jan. Got decline emails for the NICU & onc units on 1/23/19. But my app for the school-age med-surge burn unit was "forwarded to department for consideration" on 2/12. According to my job page, Peds ED and PICU applications (applied 1/19/19) have not been reviewed yet. May have already been filled? Will keep you all updated. I'm from Michigan and will be graduating from UMich in May 2019. Good luck to all!
  6. Hi guys, Im graduating from University of Michigan in May. Applied to Vanderbilt's RN Residency program back in January. I am interested in pediatrics! Critical care would be ideal, but for my critical care clinical rotation this year I was placed in an ambulatory PACU (yeah, so I don't have any actual critical care experience). However, for the PCICU they didn't require ICU experience like the all the other ICU units. So I ranked PCICU as my #1. Got the call for PCICU interview about two weeks ago. Only available interview slots for that unit were during second week on March. So, I am interviewing this upcoming Monday. Anybody else interviewing for peds?? Also, any additional info or tips regarding the interview process? I am stoked but definitely nervous.
