  1. Don't get discouraged but be prepared to get a license in another state if necessary. Depending on the state some will try to low ball you but know your value, negotiate, and weigh your options.
  2. Same reason old reason WGU's c155 "patho" course which its not a dedicated patho course. Its a patho pharm course apparently.
  3. Texas BON still won't grant me a license. I'm working in Washington state. One door shuts a better one with full practice authority opens. Dfwpmhnp is actually WAstatepmhnp...LOL.
  4. There are agencies that will accept you with the amount of experience you have now. You have 18months correct? It would be the same as you are now starting over and acquiring a job elsewhere. The only difference is you will do this every 6 to 13 weeks depending on the contract and if you want to extend the contract at a certain facility.
  5. Have you considered travel nursing or just working for an agency for your area?
  6. Has anyone had any trouble with APRN licensure especially in Texas and took MSN courses from WGU? I had no problem being accepted to PMHNP programs. However, I am facing an issue with the c155 course pathopharm course by Texas BON. I am having to send the course syllabus because the BON wants to find out if it is a dedicated pathophysiology course. Has anyone taken the 3P's with WGU and applied for APRN licensure with their state board? I will call WGU Monday for more assistance to research this issue as well as post on their alumni page.
  7. I'm so sorry I'm just now seeing your reply. I had no problem with the psych NP route. People have different styles of teaching, but made it through and learned quite a bit. I think the clinical is the best way to apply and gain knowledge. Speaking of clinical, it is horrendous trying to find a preceptor. They give you a list of NPs or places that have previously precepted their students if you reach out to the clinical coordinator to assist in your search. My advice is to find as many (at least 3) preceptors to ensure you have someone for your clinical. Yes, I took my board exam and past on the first try passed on the first try. I used lantern review, Barkley & Fitzgerald audio cds, as well as ANA questions.
  8. I had no problem with being accepted into my Psych NP program at the University of Cincinnati, They accepted my 3 P's with no issues.
  9. I am a WGU alumnus, RN-MSNed track. I had no problem getting into a PMHNP program. I graduated from the University of Cincinnati in December 2018.
  10. University of Cincinnati! Hi fellow Alumni of WGU. I received my postmaster's PMHNP from University of Cincinnati and I wasn't a NP.
