There’s pediatric rotations, and there’s no NICU but with L&D rotation there’s a chance you can be with the newborn nurse which is close enough. I loved my L&D rotation

I would think around the 26th. The last two years they release decisions the last Friday of February. However, it may be different this year.

Also, not sure how set in stone this is but one my professors mentioned that fall 2021 will be in person again and not fully online

I’ve lived in Jax majority of my life. There’s nothing really interesting here LOL but it’s probably just me cause I’m so used to JAX. I would say the good spots are 5 points/riverside and the beach area. I love riverside area, there’s a lot of restaurants and bars there and it’s even better at night. A lot of the restaurants are really good and some are lowkey and hidden, which is what I love. I hardly go to the beach area but I know a lot of people love going over there.

I would say that this program is very hard but it’s doable. You have to learn how to manage your time properly, adapt to changes and change the way you think. In the beginning, I hated the program because everything we learned we had to teach ourselves and it was worse because of COVID. But once you get the hang of managing your time to do your assignments, it started to just flow. This program hasn’t been a walk in the park and you really have to know how to go with the flow and not get stressed out. Some cons include: you have exams every week and sometimes it seems like you’re just cramming the info without adequate time to prepare or fully understand the material because of all the assignments they have due a few days before the exam. I feel like this program is unorganized and I’m not sure if it’s because of COVID but I know it gets annoying when things are sprung onto you such as new courses to complete in five days when you have finals to study for, or added class work that requires you to spend money and etc. Also, be prepared to save enough money because they like to throw random things at you to buy. I recommend saving up to $1500 Pros: I’ve actually enjoyed being online although I hated it in the beginning, they’re a little more lenient than before especially when we had skills lab because there wasn’t any pressure to master to skill and have check offs. I love my cohort, we work together on a lot of things and you all should bond because it makes everything easier. Especially when you find a group of friends to do study guides together and do assignments, it allows you to have more time to study. Another pro is that its UF and we partner with UF Health, therefore majority of our clinicals is at UF health and they’re willing to teach you. Some friends I have in another program go to different hospitals and some of the nurses are rude or expect you to know everything. Also, I think because of COVID the HESI exams we take at the end of every semester didn’t allow us to fail out of the program like in previous cohorts if you didn’t make a certain score. That lightened a lot of our stress. In all, Although there’s a lot of kinks and quirks that need to be straighten out, I love it here. It’s really all about how you make it, you have to adapt and really manage your time. Our cohort had a groupme that reminded people of when assignments are due as well as a separate group to put study documents such as study guides, quizlets etc. Please make friends in this cohort, it’s vital to your survival in this program

The first time I applied, I put Jax and was denied. I put no preference this time and got in. Not saying there’s a correlation because it may be a coincidence but I think it increases your chances

Yes I do think you should put either option, last year I applied and only selected Jacksonville and I didn’t get in, I applied again this year with not much of a difference in my application and but either campus, and I got in for Jax. It could be a coincidence but it happened for my friend as well.

3.66 overall, 3.23 prereq GPA . There wasn’t a test last year. I’m they give priority to students with health experience

I asked last year and Kenneth basically said there were better applicants and didn’t give me a reason so I could improve. I was disappointed.

Yes I applied last year and I couldn’t appeal my denial, Kenneth said all decisions were final. And last year I got my denial email exactly at 5:00pm

I think it’s coming out Friday, that way they’re not bombarded with calls the next day and they get a chance to breathe before having to respond to emails and calls on Monday. So let the countdown begin 4 more days

How is the Jax program? I’ve asked students and they had negative things to say about it. They mostly said that since it’s fairly new there’s not a lot of resources and the professors aren’t helpful and that they had to learn the information on their own. Is it still this way or have they gotten better?

Last year I received a decision February 22nd but this year it might be a week late since the assessment was due a week later than last year

Hey everyone, I applied last year and was denied. That knocked my confidence down and thought I was never getting into a nursing program. I got into JU ABSN and was close to starting but I couldn’t get a good co-signer for a loan so I had to forfeit my spot. I’m trying again & hopefully I will have better luck this time , but I’m not so confident anymore. When everyone received their email for the assessment, I never received one and I thought I was done with UF. But January 3rd came and my email came for the assessment and I was super excited to still be in the running. My hesi score is low, I made a 81% , my gpa is a 3.66 and I have a little experience in the medical field which I think if I had more it would give me a leg up. I’m not sure how well I did on the assessment because it was hard to chose between some answers. im currently applying to JU and UNF and hopefully get accepted into one of these schools.
