    What to expect from orientation

Hi. I am a new grad who is going to be working in a Level 2 Trauma Center in a month or so. I was wondering what I can expect from orientation training and if anyone has any tips for how to help transition from nursing student to ED nurse. Are there any books that you recommend to study while I am awaiting my start date? Thanks!

    Graduation Hold

Here is an update. As soon as I pay and have the hold lifted, they will send my transcripts. It sucks that I will be a little later than a lot of the other students in my cohort, but I am ok with it. I officially passed my Exit HESI today so I am just happy that it hasn't hindered anything else.

    Graduation Hold

Honestly, that would be a last resort kind of deal. We don't agree with credit cards. We built our home after our first child and paid for it as we went so when we moved in it was 100% paid for. Our cars were all bought with cash. My tuition is the only thing we do payments for. I owe the school $2500. Not chump change by any means. Testing is anytime. My question is really when I finish the program in December, am I don't to the point that i am graduated from the program. I plan to make the payment first thing on January 4th when the payment comes to my account. I will have the Pearson Vue paid and the state paid. All the school will have to do is send my transcripts. I am not sure whether they will send my transcripts when I pay or will they hold them for an additional semester. I am ok with them holding them until I pay. I get that. I am just concerned that they will hold them until May.

    Graduation Hold

They said there was nothing they could do to help. The person I talked to was no help at all. All she said was that the hold would be lifted as soon as I paid. We don't have credit cards. Never have. We pay cash for everything and pretty much have zero credit. Our bank denied me a loan because of that. I know the school will hold my transcript. I wouldn't ask them to release them early. I just want to know if when I pay it the first week in January if they will release my transcript to the BON or if this will push back until May when they release those graduates. Also wondering how long it will delay my ATT if I go ahead and pay all the fees so that it is all ready to go as soon as they get the transcripts.

    Graduation Hold

I have tried everything. It just is not happening. I am just not going to be able to pay until January 4. I just don't want this to keep me from working until May. I have already accepted a job that will start after I pass my NCLEX. This is killing me, but there is no other way to do it.

    Graduation Hold

Anyone else in this situation? I am supposed to graduate in December. I have a balance due on my account due on my account because my husband lost his job and we are basically struggling at the moment. I will not be able to pay off this amount prior to graduation. I will be able to pay it off the first week in January. Because of this my transcripts will be held. My question is will this prevent me from taking my NCLEX until May since I won't "graduate" on time. I can't get a straight answer from the Business Office at my school and my nursing office is closed today due to weather. I am sick over this. Anyone else have this happen or know someone who did?
