I've applied at Sutter, Washington, Regional, and multiple county hospitals, etc. Yeah, I would like to stay within the Bay Area. I worked as an LPN for about three to four years at nursing homes. I am still looking and applying wherever I can.
Hi!
I passed my NCLEX at end of Sept. this year. I haven't been able to find any jobs either. I missed a lot of the deadlines for the residency programs since many of those deadlines end in August/Sept. I only have my ADN, and a lot of hospitals want you to either have a BSN or be in a BSN program. I don't want to go the nursing home route, because it is easy to get stuck there and it is hard to transfer to a hospital from there. I was able to talk to someone from El Camino Hospital (Mt. View), she said to look at surgical centers or acute care centers. I haven't had any luck there either though. I am still looking but definitely feeling very disheartened.
I just started my nursing program, and everything was going great so far. However I missed a lab and the policy says I can make it up but it has to be reviewed by the Dean. I just heard back from the Dean and she rejected my make-up. So that means I have failed the course and I can't attend clinicals. However, I'm still required to go to lecture and lab for the rest of the term. I moved out of state to come to go to this school. I don't know a single person here. My parents are helping me financially. I haven't told my parents yet and I'm honestly terrified to. I made one mistake and now it has derailed my entire future. I'll have to retake the course next term. I'm just feeling really stressed out and bummed by everything. I have no one I can talk to about this in person. Still trying to figure out how I'm going to tell my parents over the phone.
