hi. i graduated from the LPN program last year and stayed with my job where i was a CNA. i went on a couple job interviews, one was a night shift position working alone. i felt nervous about being alone with no RN to consult and being a brand new grad. the advice i received from the numerous nurses in my family was that it was a bad idea, that it was too much of a liability being so inexperienced. well anyway i just wanted to share a little bit of the road im traveling since graduating, its great that you are not discouraged. you will find a place where you are comfortable and have opportunities to use your skills and or learn new ones. i want to go back to school now too- so many more options with that RN! but for now i am working in a jail and i really enjoy it so far. good luck!!!

I graduated in the LPN program last year in green bay. I have decided to leave where i am currently and go to a clinic. the pay ranges from 12.57- 14.00. i am not sure about aurora, but they have 3 openings right now. there are some homecare places looking for LPNs now, too- i think the pay range is 14-15 doe. our local tech school is graduating a lot of people every year, there isnt as much of a selection as i had hoped, especially no hospital work it seems. i definitely think the bridge to RN program is the answer, otherwise check out wisconsinjobnet and career builder.com. good luck!

i could not agree more. i was a CNA for years before i could go to my LPN program. These are the people who do the back breaking trench work and you absolutely cannot be above helping out if need be. you should absolutely rethink your career choice if you are already planning on delegating the suppositories, enemas, vomit/ diarrhea cleanup, etc. not only that, but your nusing instructors arent going to let you out of CNA duties in school during the program and if they are paying attention they are probably going to see your attitude and give you the hardest person to deal with. good luck.

hi. i just finished the practical nursing program and plan to go on in fall. my best advice for you as unrealistic as it sounds is to eliminate as many distractions as possible. i also think flying under the radar as far as instructors go is excellent advice. avoiding drama and time mgmt are key to getting through. good luck!
