Has anyone accepted an offer with HCA and had to later decline for another position in a different hospital? I'm wondering what the consequences are. I just received an offer and have to respond today but I'm waiting to hear back from other places.

The pre-reqs for UTMB are on their webpage, use those for your GPA calculations. Use those to guide you and you can enter them into a College GPA calculator online to get your GPA. For your pre-reqs they do take the highest grade just keep in mind some schools don't let you retake a class twice (I'm not sure about UTMB). I retook two science courses and I was fine. It doesn't say directly on the page that they factor cumulative but I'm sure they look at it because they make you apply through NursingCAS and they literally dissect your GPA and it shows your cumulative. The four things I would worry about are Science GPA, Pre-req GPA, Cumulative GPA, and TEAS score. GOOD LUCK!

If it's able to work out for you then you should definitely do it. I have to drive as well since I like in the Pasadena area but I can imagine that it's much more difficult to have to drive that far when you have children that need you.

This was my second time applying to UTMB & I applied to UT Health 3 times to only get waitlisted then denied so don't get discouraged. If you really want it just keep trying! ?

I know how you feel. I'm currently waitlisted for 2 schools and have been waitlisted before so I recommend waiting a week or two just to see if people deny their spots and if you don't hear back you can just start looking into Chamberlain bc getting off waitlists can be a little difficult. What do you mean by in progress to do? For Sam, like pre-reqs?

They usually never say what your spot is on the waitlist. You could be the first one up or anywhere in between the 30th one.

It basically means that we're on the waitlist. So if someone declines their spot then they'll offer it to someone on the waitlist which would be us.

I always told myself that it doesn't matter what school I attended that as long as I'm able to receive my BSN then that's all that matters because regardless of the school you're still yourself and you still get to be an awesome nurse. I remember looking at the total cost which is $88,000 and I guess that's what had scared me away bc it seemed so much compared to other schools like UT health and UTMB that ranges in the $20K. I really hope you get into Sam & that it works out for all of us bc god knows that I really need things to work out for me at this point lol

I had looked into it a while back but I personally never heard the best things from that school so I guess my brain kinda forgot about it when I started applying to schools.

Of course, University of St. Thomas! They actually extended their application until July 1st instead of June 1st so I'm guessing they still have quite a bit spots to fill. The only thing that personally drives me away from the school is that the program is 3 years long as a transfer ? & it is private so it can be quite pricey but they have I believe 3 different scholarships that they give the highest being $13,000. I was going to apply to an ADN program but I didn't get a chance too.. let's hope you get in if not apply anywhere that you can including an ADN program it won't hurt and you can always go into a bridge program and then your masters. Either way you'll get there ?

Oh no I'm sorry for getting y'all excited lol I was just wondering because I have to give a $200 deposit for another school tomorrow and it would suck to have to pay if I end up accepted at Sam.

Does anyone know if you give a deposit when you're accepted into the program?

You should also try Sam Houston (they offer it in Hunstville and The Woodlands) & University of St. Thomas if you'd like. The only downfall of UST is that it's 3 years long.

Does anyone know at what time they usually send out acceptances? I noticed that for the past two years for the Fall applications they've been told on a Wednesday ( 6/7/17 & 6/6/18) so I've been so excited all day lol

I believe they just email acceptances out.
