Farmingdale BS Advanced Standing Program - Spring 2021
Just FYI my online nursing orientation time and date was posted to my portal. Mine is Dec 3 from 1-3pm, so check to see if you have any updates on your portal. I submitted all my other documents required including immunization forms and all my deposits. Still waiting to receive my date and time to be advised to make my schedule but I'm guessing it will posted after I complete my nursing orientation.

I would assume that they would need to know you are definitely taking a seat in the program before they offer you an invitation to register and to the nursing orientation. Regular orientation is listed on the checklist to be completed. I do believe it's a $50 deposit and the intent to enroll is a $100 deposit. All the instructions are on the portal.

Congrats! I think they go over everything at the online orientation, I do believe we register for classes then too. I read some old threads and that seems like the plan. Go on your portal and start doing the next checklist, which has you pay tuition deposit, register for orientation and send medical records etc.

OMG the wait is killing me. I thought admissions said we would know no later than Friday aka today! Ughh I want to know NOW haha I keep checking email, portal, and oasis. No updates. Come ooonnnn! Anyone hear anything? Also do they offer admission to the college in general if you don't get into the nursing program....assuming that your grades are adequate for regular liberal arts admissions.

Farmingdale BS Advanced Standing Program - Spring 2021
Ahhh I know admissions lreviewed my application today. Backstory: I graduated from Farmingdale with my BS in business management a few years ago. Because of this my FSC application portal showed my farmingdale transcript as "not received" because I cant request transcripts from Farmingdale to be sent to Farmingdale LOL. I called admissions before the deadline to make sure there was nothing I needed to do because that big red "x" that said transcripts not received stressed be out haha Annnyywaayyy, I just checked to see if my oasis or the FSC portal had changed when I saw that red "x" was replaced with a green check saying transcripts from farmingdale received 11/3/20! Ahhhhhh so exciting and nerve wracking! So far nothing else has change so no real update just that I know admissions reviewed my application or atleast it seems like they have!

Nassau Community College Nursing: Fall 2021 Applicants
I just recently took the TEAS (last week actually) and got a 86%. I’m thinking of retaking for a more competitive, and hopefully an exemplary score! Prerequisites that I completed (all from NCC): Anatomy/Phys I: A Anatomy/Phys II: A ENG 101: A ENG 102 (Literature): A Lifespan Dev: A Modern American Hist: A Psych: A Statistics: A Sociology: A Western Civ: A Never applied to a program before. My cumulative GPA us a 3.6 and prerequisite GPA is 4.0 I havent take medical micro or pathophysiology yet and won't be able to before the Fall 2021 deadline. I'm also a suffolk resident. I missed the deadline for Soring 2021 by a few days bc I still needed to take the TEAS at the time. Deadline was Oct 9... I took TEAS October 13. I wanted to find a testing place that was in person as I knew a remote proctored test would be too distracting for me ( I have a 13 month old daughter) Covid ended up canceling 3 other TEAS I had registered for in March. Ughh Oh well. Everything happens first a reason, or so I tell myself. Anyone applying for the 2nd or 3rd time? How have your stats improved? I'm so nervous I feel like I've been "talking" about applying to a nursing program forever and now it's really happening. Exciting and nerve wracking! I'm applying to Farmingdale's advanced standing program too. Maybe Suffolk too? Anyone else applying to other programs? Also this would be my second degree. I feel "old" (I'm 35) applying but I know it's a mixed age group going in. Honestly my mom went back to school when she was 48 to be a nurse (after no school since high school in 1978!) So if she can do it, so can all of us! I still don't know how she did it while going through a divorce and just beating breast cancer!

Fingers crossed for everyone applying! I'm so nervous. I wasn't planning on submitting an application for next term but decided if not now then when. I registered for my TEAS this past Sunfay. Took it on Tuesday and had my application completed by Wednesday. It's been a roller coaster of emotions the past few days but I'm so excited I took this step forward! Now the waiting....is it November yet? Haha
