  1. In other words, you're re-evaluating the alternative of the patient's medication therapy by reaching to the relatives. D would be a last resort. Try C first. It may help. That's the way I look at it. You're answering that question. There is no other best answer. C is correct than the D unless it stated that the pt is exhibiting depressive disorder, other mental health or other problems.
  2. I apologize not to include more information. No, I don't like to share anything about my family or friends with clients. I'm not that kind of person who gets upset about values and beliefs because the person is my opposite. Everyone has its own values and beliefs. I always respect people's choices, values, and beliefs. These are one reason I get along well with clients and people. I don't recall getting out of shape because someone believes x and y. And I don't. I'm usually private, but I can engage in a conversation. I just don't like it when a colleague gossips about me. I only told one, so I knew who spread it.
  3. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
  4. Funny thing is that some of those educators don't cross their mind that they are probably teaching their students like Nightingale who finds a purpose in life other than being mean.
  5. That person wants to break you. Don't allow people to do that to you. Keep your sanity together.
  6. Do your best. You're practicing under that person's license.
  7. Never tell people your life story. Just tell them you have a rough time. That's it.
  8. Personality disorder----> Google it. It will help you to have a good laugh on those days you want to pull your hair out. Not all people with mental illness are dangerous. They are unaware of their condition. If they do, they deny it.
  9. A and B eliminated. We don't want to answer a patient with those... C. Why is correct? There is no violation of confidentiality. The patient declines drugs. The person has a different approach to treating or managing its injury or illness. For example, there are people who believe you can heal their injury by blowing on it or you rub your hands together and put them closer to their injury by 2 inches or whatever distance they prefer. The family members are included in the care unless the patient wrote it down that he or she doesn't want any family members to be contacted. In this question, it did not ask about his or her status with family. You get to pick one of those choices. You aren't violating HIPAA. D. Wrong. It's for mental health concerns. Recall that not everyone believes in drugs. I personally take drugs when it's really needed. If I can tolerate pain, I refuse in order to protect my liver. So, would you refer me to a mental health professional because I did not want my medication even though you can objectively see it that I'm in pain? Aren't you curious to ask my family who may be able to help me out?
  10. I swear I didn't go to school to be the emotional toilets of clinical instructors except to those who tell me to study, do my job right and stay out of trouble. Tell me I'm wrong and show me how it's done correctly. If those kinds of instructors cannot pull their heads out of their anal cavity, why do they teach? If they cannot handle their job, there are other non-nursing jobs for them. They don't have to deal with students. Teaching and training students are their primary responsibility--they are passing their knowledge and experience/wisdom. Nursing school is hard; I can't imagine being a clinical instructor someday. I salute those nurses who dedicated themselves in their career and make a better world for their next generation. I can't imagine their frustration on students who may end up murdering a patient by medical error. I've met the most wonderful nurse educators who are/were firmed and uncruel. Surely, they can make you think twice--study or fail. I won't allow people to change the way I am unless for my own good but being bitter and lack humility. I'm not good at imitating bad behavior. If you're easily to be changed in a bad way, then who are you? Stick to your good quality. Don't emulate those kinds of nurses. Be the person you don't want to be. Do your best. You aren't there to be liked by your teachers anyway. It boils down to--you're practicing under their license. If they're abusive, allow them to abuse you for a while. That's their POWER; that's where they feel powerful and can give you the most terrifying experience in your nursing school; they can either try to help you pull through or make your nursing school life a little harder. Remember, they deal with stress more than we do. You need to analyze yourself and your roles in their frustration. We don't know what's like being them. I wish I know but don't need to. I ALWAYS remind myself they are my teachers who want me to succeed. I'm sure they won't be proud to see me in the news for killing my patient by accident.
  11. Lawsuit time. That's not unprofessionalism.
  12. Cardiovascular system Endocrine System Digestive System Muscuskeletal System (organism level, organ level, and molecullar and cellular levels). Electrolytes Urinary system And all the human body system. Don't need to know everything but it would be ideal to do so. It makes life easier. Learn to reward yourself, prevention or decrease burnout. Those data sound a lot but take it easy. I forgot many of those when I started the program; however, almost everything came back when they are used a lot in the nursing courses. The review is much more painless while in the program. The grading system has been very tough. In short, yes, review at your own pace and don't stress out. We had a few people got kicked out from the program already-- they underestimated the program. It did start slow then suddenly us students were juggling to catch all the data given to us. Don't procrastinate! Study and review unless you know nursing skills already.
