Thank you! I graduated 12/15, started my application right away, sent my fingerprints and official court documents to the WA BON just before Christmas, tested on 1/9, my license was active on 1/24, and I got a job right away. Right now I am applying for my OR license and that is taking a bit longer however. I completed my application on 9/10 and am still waiting.

Does anyone know if the FNP now requires a DNP in washington state? I don't see MSN FNP programs offered at WSU or UW, only DNP. I remember my MSN level FNP in Portland, OR in 2009 went back to school to get her DNP because she said OR was about to make it so that she had to have a DNP to prescribe. Did this happen in West coast states? I can only find info that ARNPs can prescribe nationally but not state-specific requirements. Here in TN I see mostly MSN FNPs who are prescribing.

Can anyone tell me if a DNP is required for the FNP in WA now? I want to do the DNP anyway, but I am not seeing any MSN FNP programs and am wondering if WA is requiring a DNP now.

Hi, I am about to graduate and will be applying for my WA state license. I have two misdemeanors for petty theft from 12 and 10 years ago. Has anyone gone through this with a similar background? I have heard stories from CA of the license taking 6-9 months to go through with misdemeanors. Thank you!
