  1. Yes it was 2 hours after my interview
  2. Yes one of my recommenders who is also my current employer told me she received a call. She wouldn’t tell me what was said though. Not sure how I feel about this
  3. did anyone hear anything about them calling your recommenders after the interview?
  4. hi @Haron717 ! I have experience working with adults with behavioral health issues and am also a counselor for a crisis text line. how about yourself?
  5. Hi there! I am also applying to the PMHNP specialty so good luck to use and everyone else. I don't think i'm going to use all the characters. My goal is to be as concise as possible and the people who read these have hundreds of applications to go through, so i don't think more words is necessarily better, unless all those words are critical to the prompt.
  6. Hi everyone. I've been working on my UCSF apps this week and it's definitely nerve-racking! UCSF is my top choice and I can't remember the last time I wanted something this badly. I've basically filled out everything on the app except anything that requires writing and only started brainstorming what to write today. This is the hardest part! Does anyone else know how they're differentiating the goal and personal statements? They seem like they will overlap. Anyways, I'm applying to the Psychiatric/Mental Health NP program. It feels good seeing other applicants embarking on this journey with me. Good luck to all!
  7. I just graduated from undergrad with a BS in Statistics. I want to become a Psychiatric NP and was wondering if this is possible. I know there are direct entry NP programs for non-nursing majors, but I'm not sure if I have the freedom to go into any specialty I want with these programs. I've seen some schools that only offer certain focuses such as Family NP for these direct entry NP programs. Any advice on how to achieve my goals would help. Also unrelated to nursing but just in case anyone has info.. I've been considering med school to become a psychiatrist but I have no pre-med work done. Do you think it's worth it to take at least a year to finish pre-med work and then spend even more years pursuing that degree? I also currently work as a MA so I can only take classes part time. I am 22 years old. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!!
