1. I'm having such a hard time getting a FT WAH CM position. But I came across a job positing for CM WAH, with acute care experience. I work as a CM for short term home care, usually post hospitalization. Would this be considered acute care: IVs, PICCs, Mediports, Cpaps for preemies, Chest Tubes, Jackson Pratt drains, Foleys, colostomies , urostomies, wound care, wound vacs, suture removals, blood draws, TPN, G-tubes, post ops (ortho, cardio, GI, GU, respiratory, transplants, ...), chemotherapy in the home, Complex Disease Management (everything), trachs, O2 management,
2. Yes on the calendar to keep track of your visits, the LPNs, PTS, OTS, ST, MSW, HHA and pt's md appointments. Communicate with the other disciplines and document your conversations. Good luck
3. I'm hoping you guys can help me. I had a telephone interview about 4 months ago and didn't make it past that. Now I've been invited for another telephone interview for Utilization Management Nurse 2 - Northeast Region position. So with that being said, my first interview wasn't what they wanted so I NEED this one to be the one. My background: CM in short term home care ( this past 10 years) and long term home care, Managed care ( MLTC,HMO/PPO), medicare, Director of Nursing for LTC, Nursing Administrator for ALF, Disease management in home and SNF, Utilization Management (PPO/HMO, Medicare, Medicaid, Milliman Guidelines, Discharge planning home care and SNF, Rehab home care and SNF. BSN and MBA. So this is what I remembered being asked on the last telehphone interview and my comments: secure place...yes high speed dsl/cable.... yes case management certified: are you or can you be.... planning on taking in December. how much money.... I said I was flexible and open for any reasonable offer. They asked what I can do for them..... I discussed my years of experience makes my skills very diverse, I have CM in managed care-medicare-medicaid-short term and long term care, Milliman guidelines, Disease management from pends thru geriatrics involving all body systems, UAS certified, I have a BSN and an MBA. Why am I the best candidate..... I basically said the above again, that I'm deversified and could bring a well rounded skill set for them, How am I different then others.... Repeated some of the stuff above, I'm a team player, empathetic nurse, customer/pt centered, Strengths and flaws..... strength in that my skills are in many different aspects of care and excellent clinical skills. Flaws.... I think others have the same work ethics and have higher expectations for them and I realized that others work differently and that that's ok. So I'm asking for input on what I should say differently. Your help and assistance is greatly appreciated.
4. I hate the waiting...
5. I have extensive experience: HMO/PPO, MIlliman guidelines, medicare/medicaid, MLTC, CM, UM, concurrent review, pre authorization, home care (short term- meaning PEDS up to geriatrics and all diseases), med/surg, assisted living, Long term care/Sub acute rehab, Director of Nursing, Nursing Administrator, Quality Improvement, Compliance Officer, .... you'd think I'd find something, but no luck
6. How soon do you hear right back? Government clearance... It said you'd have to be willing to go thru the process and I said yes
7. I did it yesterday. I was prepared as I had an idea of the kind of questions they'd ask. Now its the waiting game. What happened with your interview ?
8. I have an automated telephone interview tomorrow. What kind of questions can I expect?
