new to MDS world
im in the process of getting hired for an MDS job, waiting on offer letter at this point. I've been a nurse for decades, LOL, but not in the MDS area. any guidance on note taking etc, during our morning meetings/other meetings? I know I need to take down dx, admit date, skilled tx's, etc. I want to make sure I don't miss something important because I think it isn't important

I got the job!!!!
Thank you. That actually helps a lot, hadnt even thought about a desk calendar. I did find a large calendar book (8x11) and i ended up getting a separate notebook for...notes:) Im going to have a binder with all the client info in it so i will use loose leaf filler paper notebook and file the pages in the main binder, if that makes sense. I like the idea of the desk calendar for a quick glance when I'm in the office. Thanks to everyone who read my question and to those who answered!

I got the job!!!!
I will be starting a new job within the next few weeks and although I have tons of nursing experience this role is new to me as a case manager. I am ordinarily organized and really good with time management but are there any tips you can give me on starting this new journey? One thing im specifically wondering about is a day planner type thing. I know i will have my phone but im still old school and want paper form because thats what im used to. Im thinking a monthly daily weekly type but also want a place for quick notes etc like when checking voicemails. Bonus points if its a zip or snap type closure :) Can you recommend one and any plus/minuses and also anything beyond the typical pens/pencils type stuff i may need and lastly any advice youre willing to give is greatly appreciated!

Facility hiring ALL positions....
Thanks so much for your response. I wish there was a way to get more "inside info" on the place. I'd rather not waste their time or mine going for an interview. Ive done bedside nursing for so long and i keep looking for other opportunities/types of nursing but being an LPN where i live is proving to be a disadvantage. My 20 yrs experience doesn't matter because im not an RN and i have no desire to go back to school at this point in my life but i may end up with no choice seeing i have about 30 years left in my work life.

Facility hiring ALL positions....
I am wondering peoples thoughts on this... While recently looking at local nursing jobs I came across one that seems like a great opportunity but being unfamiliar with the company i started looking online for reviews etc. It seems that they are hiring for everything from DON to CNA to kitchen staff and so on. It is not a new facility but just underwent a massive remodel and i mean MASSIVE! I'm looking at this 2 ways. 1. New managment? 2. Really crappy place to work and no one stays. It actually got decent reviews recently but last year and beyond not so much which leads me to think they got rid of the riff raff(?) I am an LPN with over 20 yrs experience and was looking at the ADON position but noticed they are also looking for a DON which makes me nervous since i have floor and supervisory experience but none as an ADON. Any advice or thoughts are greatly appreciated! Maybe i should add its an assisted living facility and my experience is ltc.
