Mac users' experiences with ECCO
I disliked the Ecco Class Very much. We had Time allocated to use the PC in the Class for 2 weeks. 2 weeks Of reading stuff as fast as program went not many chances to ask questions. I Could Have Stay in Home And save money And Time on the commute. I wouldnt. Mind half And half computer And classroom instruction but not this pain I went through.

Does your specialty fit your personality?/Why did you choose your specialty?
Icu fits my personality Of quick thinker And problem solver. Also i became a Nurse because i Enjoy helping people And caring And those little miracles That happen. Nursing Its not An Easy career so think carefully Before You decide to change. There is a lot Of things You Have to deAl with That You dont Have to with other job. All the body fluids Of humans cant disgust You. It ofen not Pretty And it gets messy Also.

New Grad in ICU struggling
Hi, I am working in CCU, I took the critical care class then had 8 weeks on the unit orientation. Only one week on nights. Previously I have been working in medical surgical tele unit. Very busy. I had good feedback from my preceptors. I understand everything what is going on, I know what and why. I learn fast how to operate all the complicated machinery but seems like I forget to do some things that I know need to be done. Like changing inner cannula of the trached patient. However patient has had it for a while and none of the experienced nurses changed it prior to me, nor respiratory therapist. It clogged at the change of shift. The day nurse spotted it before even getting reported. PT was couging badly. It made me look so bad. Does it happen to you? DO you forget to do those things? Obviously nurses before me did not it. HOwever its ABC. I get enought sleep, I eat well. I have been always been told I am smart, I speak 3 languages. I am not cut out for ICU nurse? Please tell me, does come with the time? Or I should already get it all done?

should I just bypass HR completely?
Hi, Seems like you are doing all the things that helped me to get almost every position that I have applied for, even though competition is high. What else can I tell you? In my resume I write that I am hard working and honest person, and I am. I always thought the fact that I am a forein nurse will be disadvataging for me so I prepared my resume, extra, extra. But maybe the fact that I am polish actually helps. Because usually employees have a good opinion of us a a workers. Also I am going to be graduating with my MSN this summer, and I think employeers like that fact. Keep trying. don't give up! And look critically at every step that you make in the process. You can read some tips on the web, I used www.monster.com and some others that I don;t remember.

should I just bypass HR completely?
Hi, everybody! I got the job in one of the best hospitals in the east coast, w/o hospital experience and BSN from another Eurpean country. English is my second language. I was working in the nursing home and looking for a new job in the hospital. Many people try to get the job where I just got it, second best paying hospital in NJ. How? My secret is to fill out the application in person, and my resume is excellent. Have some good help to fix yours. On the interview? You have to be perfectly professionall and flexible. Med sur floor is where you will start and you can climb up, to L&D and any other place. Reality is that you have to start where they want you. With no experience you can;t pick and choose, but once you have any job, keep looking for something better.

Working in New Jersey
Dear Susan, Thank you for responding to my problem. :pumpiron: I understand the process is not H-1 visa anymore, and that they need to petition for the green card. I know that the orietation is reqired but it is at various times of the day and I am not able to attend the school classes that way. So I need to change my immigration status as soon as I start working so I don't loose my F-1 visa. By transfering a license a mean getting my RN license here, based on my license from Poland. And now BIG QESTION: WHERE ARE THE PLACES WHO SPONSOR IN NJ????????? I have contacted a couple of agencies and none of them has the positions for nurses with petitioning in state of NJ anywhere around. Thank you for any adresses and phone number you can provide,

My CRNA friends do illegal drugs
i think everything is for the people but in the right amount, some drugs were legal and become illegall because people were abuisng it, some are legal in on place but illegal in another. Depending on the state law. General law is simple : AS SOON AS YOU Control it and it does't impair you performance in professionall and private life, it is fine. if these women are proving themselves for past two years, I don't think they have a problem. Anyway MDM is used to treat depression in small amouts.
