  1. Hi there, I am talking with other companies such as Access Nurses, RN Network, and On Assignemnt. Any advice on these companies? Thank You!
  2. Hi there! So, Medical Solutions offered me a position in Phoenix at $25/hr- including free pvt housing, travel reimbursement, mileage reimburement, etc! That seems low to me but they also provide this "per diem" money which is $39/day for food and things. Plus they give this vehicle stipend for gas, repairs of your car at $650/month- so these perks all break down biweekly on your check. Does this sound right to you and am I getting a far deal? I always thought phoenix was higher paying for travelers?? Has anyone traveled with them before? Please help! thank You!
  3. Hi everyone....I don't intend to sound dumb, but can someone please explain exactly what stipends are on during travel assignments. I don't know a whole lot about them and want to be prepared when I talk to travel companies and want to get the best deal! Are stipends worth taking inyour opinions? Thank You!
  4. Hi there! I started working at an outpatient/pain management center last summer as a per diem RN. I still work at a hospital per diem as well. Let me tell ya, they are complete opposites. I would love to eventually get a full time position in an outpatient facility. There is barely any stress, no weekends/holidays, hours do vary based on how many surgeries that day. It is pretty routine where I work and a lot of the charting is basically the same on all patients. The only meds I pass are pain meds, orders are all the same depending on what type of surgery, and there is no chaos!! I don't get nervous going to work cause I know what to expect. I work in the recovery room where pts go home w/in 1-1.5 hours. It's great! And yes, they are hard to get into, but take the per diem position! Any questions, let me know!

Hi piperknitsRN! Just curious as to what travel agency you are with? I am looking for a new one? Thanks!
  6. Hi! Unfortunately NIP doess not provide housewares, but there is a package where u can pay around $150/month and "rent" the the housewares. Living basically on my own I just bought what i thought I needed and it seemed to be a lot cheaper that way. I am looking too for a company that supplies all the housewares- it will make it a lot easier. Hope this helps!
  7. Hi there! i was a traveller w/ NIP for my 1st travel assignment in Palm beach Gardens, FL and i have all good things to say about the company. My recruiter was great and still keeps in contact with me. The pay was good in my opinion and the housing was excellent- in a ritzy area, safe, across the street from a new shopping/dining complex, and 5 minutes away from the hospital I worked at. The hospital was ok but the workers on my floor were very "traveller friendly" which is most important to me. my paychecks were always accurate and on time and i have never had a problem with this company! If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

  12. Hello! I was wondering what are some important questions to ask the hospital manager a traveller is interviewing for? Also, what should a traveller be looking for during the conversation? Thanks so much!
  13. Thanks for the info. i am w/ a company, but have not taken a contract- just looking aorund right now.
  14. Hi there, I was curious to know what are some "traveler friendly" hospitals in Phoenix, AZ and/or LA, Beverly Hills, Santa Barbara, or other southern cali cities? I will be going in January on hopefully a cardiac stepdown/telemetry floor. Also, what would be the potential pay rate in those areas? thank you for any information! have a great day!

Hi there, i agree a lot with the above. i worked in palm beach gardens, fl ( very close to w. palm) at a small hospital from Feb- May. The pay was $28/hr cause i worked night shift. I worked on a medical tele floor, staff was very nice and helpful, but i saw more medical patients than tele, lots of older patients that were confused or a "snow bird" as they called them from the north. There were times when aides floated and it was very stressful trying to take care of 6 patients at a time when all were on the call light! I never gotten tips either. Hope this helps, let me know if u have other questions! carrie
