  1. What MSN program are you in if you don't mind me asking? I am a currently a full-time school nurse and starting an MSN Nurse Educator Program in Fall. I left the floor last year and have always wanted to teach, but now I am trying to see what to do as far as gaining more floor experience. School nursing helped me during my high-risk pregnancy and I just ended up loving my weekends, holidays, and summers off. But now that I am going into education, I wonder how much more floor experience I should get and if doing PER DIEM shifts will suffice. Bedside nursing and patient-nurse ratios are insane, I don't know if I want to do it full-time again or for a long time, well at least not in Med-Surg as I was in. We seem to be on a similar boat, maybe we can feed off each other lol TIA
  2. Anyone else think it is silly that registration begins before the orientation day?
  3. Same! í ½í¸†
  4. Not completely sure, but UCI just opened up their DNP program. Look into it! Applications close May 20th, I THINK**
  5. You can contact Kaplan and extend your online access if that is what you have. I loved Kaplan and solely used that. I went through 75-100 questions a day which helped me figure out the way to test for the NCLEX. Also, when I got a question incorrect, I would write it in a notebook along with the rationale. It was tedious but worth it. I felt it was more about knowing how to "critically," think through the question, then knowing all the material. Don't be discourage, get back on the grind. YOU WILL BEAT THE NCLEX MONSTER! :)
  6. Nurses, the only people who signed up to be around those with the Flu.
  7. I received my acceptance email last night, after they sent out the email that they have until April 24th to decide due to the amount of applications they received. I wish the best for everyone! Hopefully we can all start this fall :)
  8. No, I applied to CSUDH and CSULA for their MSNed Programs. My long-term goal is to go into education, but CSULB doesn't offer an MSNed, so I applied to the PNP program since it is something I am very interested in as well, but plan to add a semester to gain the Nursing Education Certification. How about you @Iseeyoumurse? You said you applied to the FNP program? Did you also apply at other schools? I felt I had to apply everywhere to increase my chances of getting in somewhere
  9. PNP, it was one of the least impacted programs. Also, I haven't officially received anything from the SON or CSULB. Other than what was on my profile. I had the same experience with CSULA and CSUDH though. I applied to their MSN Ed programs and seen the updated status online before I got any official notice. But from my understanding, you have to receive both, admission from the CSU and SON.
  10. I applied as well and have not heard anything back. HOWEVER, I did the Application Status Report on the Applicant Self-Service Website that was given through the email and my status was changed to "You have been offered Admission." I have not received anything official via email or snail-mail, but I am hoping this is a good sign. Crossing my fingers!!
