  1. Yes, they factored in GPA. The minimum is 2.5 for the core reqs for nursing, but other applicants were coming in with a 3.0 or higher along with As in core reqs and high ACT scores. So, basically the minimum isn't good enough. It's like trying to get into medical school!!! I'm frustrated too! Now I'm hoping to get into the LPN program at Columbus tech, which is also competitive.
  2. I need to raise my GPA. She stated that most applicants were making As in the core pre-reqs, so their points were higher...along with scoring higher on ACT. I will retake 2 courses for a higher grade and possibly retake the ACT. But, I refuse to retake AP 1&2. I'm kinda upset that they didn't even factor in my Micro class. Its still in progress, but I am doing well in the course.
  3. Will do.
  4. What was your GPA? How were your pre reqs grades and act score?
  5. I got an email and didn't get in. I will speak with someone in the department to see how I can be more competitive, but the requirements are so much higher than what they list. It's becoming harder to get in a non profit nursing program. But congrats to everyone that got in.
  6. I just knew they were not gonna do it all today...or any.
  7. Exactly!!! LoL
  8. Well, the deadline is drawing near. I don't know what kind of system they have set up to notify us via email. Are they sending out a mass denial email and a mass acceptance email? Either way, I would like to know now because it's been an extended and unwarranted wait.
  9. Heather has 2 and a half hours left, LOL!
  10. So, are they only sending out acceptance letters? Meaning that if you didn't get accepted, then you would not receive an email?
  11. 1pm eastern time...still waiting.
  12. Professor McCollum...she's a good teacher, but I hate micro lol
  13. Thank you all for the info and links! ?
  14. Does anyone know of others currently in the program? I really want to know what the schedule looks like for the most part. Also, I wonder how many people applied?
  15. Now I can't concentrate at work and I have a micro exam tomorrow.
  16. Has anyone heard of what a typical nursing schedule is like at CVCC? Also, will anyone be working full or part time through the program if you get accepted?
  17. She said that it will be sent to the email that we listed on the application. I put my personal email on it, but I did check my CVCC email like a mad woman and saw nothing.
  18. Ok, its 10am and I have checked my email about 20 times since 8am!!!
  19. I received a call last week notifying me that emails will be sent out on April 8th...today!!! I hope that they keep their word.
  20. Honestly, I don't recall because it's been so long ago that I dropped off my application, lol
  21. I'm waiting on a notification too! That's messed up that we have to wait even longer to know if we are in or not. I thought it wasn't fair that they extended the deadline in the first place because some people could not locate the application on the website. A simple call to the nursing coordinator would have led them in the right direction. But, that's just my rant. Now I have to wait longer.
  22. Are all the lectures on campus or online? I live 2 hours away but all my pre reqs are done.
  23. I live in GA, but I'm interested in the Florida campus. Are the lectures online? How often are labs and clinicals? I'm willing to travel for the clinicals.

  25. Hi! How are the clinical days and lectures set up? I'm a CSU alumni from the health science program. I'm returning to school for nursing degree this time.
