  1. Once my PCA drew labs on a patient that had D5NS with 20mEq of potassium running in one arm and insulin drip running in the other. I was pretty sure I had stopped the fluids so they could do the lab, but it was apparent I hadn't when the lab called to ask about my patients glucose that was over 1000 and potassium that was 7.something. Drawing from an arm with an IV running definitely makes a difference.
  2. Hey I was looking for information about the RN to BSN program at UCF. How is it going for you? Im hoping to start in the Fall.
  3. So when I got my ATT at the end of May, there were no dates really available for months. But how I and a bunch of people from my program got lucky, is we kept checking for available dates and were able to pick up an appointment that I assume someone dropped. That being said, I would say to be prepared to take the NCLEX now because you could easily get a date within a few days. (I was online looking on a Friday and was able to get a date for the coming Monday)
  4. Hey! I go to Central campus, each campus runs their program a little differently, but I would say to focus on Infection Control, Hygiene, Physical Assessment, and Vital Signs for the most part. Its a lot of information but those are usually the big foundation chapters.
  5. Your HESI scores don't matter as long as you got above the minimum. Your GPA will depend on the people that apply when you apply. It changes from semester to semester but with a 3.4 I would think you are good.
  6. If you have all your prereqs and requirements complete, you can take the form to an advisor and they will go through and make sure all your transcripts and stuff is in the system and they will sign off on it. I'm not sure if you have to go to a health science advisor specifically, I just went to the advising office and met with someone that was available...I believe anyone can help you. For the hesi, as long as it's in your transcript, they should be able to see it. If you took at it Broward or had them sent to Broward, it should be there
  7. Broward College Nursing Fall 2018
  8. I created a Facebook group so we can communicate and share information about the program. Just search for it and add yourself Broward College Nursing Fall 2018
  9. I am going to start the Facebook group I guess. If anyone wants to join send me a PM so I can get it started.
  10. Probably because the program admits a certain number of students and they reached that number at some point in the middle of the group with 8 points. Then they pick a certain number of students as alternates...so they continue down the list where they left off.
  11. I believe she was intending on applying after she got her RN license
  12. You will get a list of classes to register for. You have to pick the classes on the campus you want. So basically you need to register for classes on the campus you want before it fills up.
  13. That happens when you register for classes. You would register for your first semester classes on the campus you want to attend.
  14. Just got my email that explains everything.
  15. You guys my status changed!!!!
  16. Admission is based in points. They put everyone in order by number of points and go down the list until they are full. The most you can get is 16. There is no minimum... Everyone finds out if they are admitted into the program on the same day. Having points assigned just means they processed your application.
  17. Yes! We can start the countdown!! Any day this week!!
  18. Seminole State College in Orlando area. I live up here now but want to move down to Broward.
  19. I got into my backup program!! But Broward is my first choice. This week has gone by awfully slow.
  20. Ok cool. I didn't apply for concurrent, just Seminole. So it looks like we will find out later this week!! And congrats on getting into the concurrent program!
