  1. Ageism is alive and well in some settings. I experienced it in CA. One hiring manager actually asked me "How old are you, anyway?" (I was "older than 20" at the time, but motivated, willing and very able to do all of the work necessary.
  2. For those of you maybe in CA, is it the same experience for you? Are there specific roles in which a "relatively inexperienced" RN could find work, besides in SNF? I applaud you all for the work you are doing in the middle of this crisis.
  3. Is there any hope for nursing job once you are a few years out of school? Family illness caught me off guard after completion of school, and jobs were scarce at the time in my area. Anything besides the SNF route? Years of real job customer-care experience, just not in medical field. Thanks for any input.
  4. Kudos to you for all of your dedicated years in nursing! I'm in my late 50's and trying to begin nursing, following 25 yrs in the airline industry. A late bloomer, I guess! BSN, but finding it tough to get started. I'm in awe of you and your long and successful career!
