Baylor Scott White GN Residency Internship - Winter 2021 Cohort
I had a phone interview early September and the recruiter told me they had no positions in fort worth open. I didn't know if I was late to picking out my locations or if they really didn't have any open. I have yet to hear from the recruiter for the only location I was able to pick out.

Medical City February 2021 Nurse Residency
Has anyone done rotations for fort worth or NHH? Just wondering what are your opinions/experiences in these facilities?

Most likely. My first interview was about 5 minutes behind.

Medical City February 2021 Nurse Residency
Had mine for Fort Worth ICU and the lady was really nice. It's more relaxed and I had three questions :]. I think they had more time last residency and offered facetime.

If you have an iphone it's facetime. If not, then just phone interview!

Medical City February 2021 Nurse Residency
Wow that's incredibly sad. I know hospitals are struggling from the pandemic. Especially not being able to do surgeries for a while. I'm guessing that document they sent out wasn't a typo :/. I was really looking forward to the interviews.

Medical City February 2021 Nurse Residency
Exactly what I'm thinking! Currently working as an RN and trying to switch specialties. I can't take that huge cut.

Medical City February 2021 Nurse Residency
During October they offered $2,000 bi-weekly during the internship phase so now I'm confused on the huge cut!

Memorial Hermann Grad Nurse Program Spring 2020
The assessment doesn't really matter. I believe I got to question 19 when I ran out of time. They don't really look at what you score. I believe they focus on how you interview and you fit into their floor or what they're looking for. I received my salary information when I was given my offer. Day shift is $29.10 and night shift $33.10.

Has anyone used uworld to pass HESI exit?
Well I did have Hurst on the side for reviewing my content. That helped when I had more basic questions such as fluid and electrolytes. I did about 700 uworld questions and about 400 questions on prepu. I tried to expose myself as much as possible, but there were things on the HESI that I did not know. Test taking strategies such as ABC, maslows, and prioritization helped me answer things I did not know. Remember safety of patient and everyone else is your main concern! I did see questions on uworld and prepu that were also asked on my HESI. It was worded more simply on HESI but the same content. I think when the days get closer to the test, strengthen what you have and know. You can't fully prepare for HESI, it's everything we were taught related to nursing. That is why I stress exposing yourself on HOW to answer questions and test taking strategies. This is an odd suggestion but quickly look over your major bones and muscles just in case.

Has anyone used uworld to pass HESI exit?
I had pedi/ob not too long ago, so it was pretty easy to answer those questions. They're very obvious in my opinion. I may have studied a day or two for pedi/ob but not too much. I still ended up with above a 900 in those sections. The fundamentals and leadership and management in uworld helped me immensely. I honestly powered through those during my test because of how much I exposed myself with uworld. My overall advice is study how you feel like you study the best. Don't overload yourself with too many resources. Have a strong knowledge of your basics and foundations. From there you can figure out the answer*.

Thank you!! I think it's a mix of both. There are nursing process questions and you have to relate it to your patient. Know your basic meds. Maslows helped in certain situations. I didn't do my uworld by process, but I think next time around I study for NCLEX I'll be doing that. I think knowing the disease really helps on answering the question. As far as difficulty, I'd say they're pretty much even. Uworld may be a bit harder. For me, it's not about difficulty, but getting used to answering certain types of questions. Especially fundamentals and leadership and management. Remember the bulk of the HESI is med-surg, fundamentals, and leadership and managament. I think the other subjects I touched base with on uworld and it was enough to prepare me.

Okay, so I made a 1042 ?!! Honestly, uworld helped a lot, but some of it I answered based on my own knowledge. I studied uworld for about 10 days (700 questions) before exit HESI. I also did evolve adaptive quizzes. Just don't psych yourself out of questions and believe in what you know. I think once you know the disease or the meds then the answer is evident.
