Where are newer nurses still having difficulty finding a job?
to my understanding, new grad nurses in Denver are finding jobs, but many have to go outside of the metro. Also, the pay for new grad nurses in Denver is lower due to saturation!

Job opportunities in a new state for a new grad?
in my current state there are a ton of new grad programs but the pay to cost of living is low. So I applied to programs out of state and my plan is to do an accelerated nursing program and work there for about 2 years. I would go to school and work in a state with shortages. They will probably offer you more scholarships and job opportunities. Hope that helps!

Hi ladies for those of you that started at dcn can you tell me more about how it is structured? I know they do quarters instead of semester so how long is each quarter? Do they have any school breaks? Also what is the schedule like for clinicals and classes? Finally where have you guys done clinicals? Is anyone working at all in the program?

CU Anschutz accelerated nursing
Metro state has an accelerated nursing program and as a student there already you could have probably applied to their traditional nursing program. Csu Pueblo has an accelerated program as does uccs. Also Unc has an accelerated program which is about 20 months. Regis has two start dates for their accelerated program; one cohort they take 36 and the other about 90

Two girls had unfortunate circumstances in life and they delayed and one was an alternate and they offered her a spot in the July cohort so who knows

Denver College Nursing July 2018
I think they there are many. I know that they carried some people over from April cohort as some girls in my pre req classes were accepted and then deferred to July. Frustrating thing is it gives you absolutely no time to apply for scholarships

Oh that is not too bad. I have nutrition left and I am taking patho for other programs I am applying to as well. I have my BA in Public Health and Sociology and have worked in Health Care for about 5 years as a care coordinator, unit coordinator, and now Patient advocate. I am nervous about the GPA requirement I have over a 3.0 but other programs I applied to didn't accept people under a 3.6 sadly. So just nervous!
