Continuing Education
I work in a high acuity CCU at a trauma center and we get a lot of critical care/medical ICU overflow to our unit. Ive been a nurse a year and a half, and off orientation for almost a year. I want content I can study on my own related to my specialty because I feel like I've forgotten a lot from nursing school and want to refresh myself on pathophysiology and pharmacology. Anybody have suggestions for casual studying and continuing education?

Experience
At what point are you technically considered to have 1 year of experience? Is it from your date of hire or from the time you are off orientation?

Fox News calls CNA a nurse
My ex-boyfriend always told me his mom used to be a nurse. I was super suspicious of this because she didn't know the difference between Ibuprofen and Tylenol. I later found out she was a unit secretary for 2 years and when I confronted him about it he said "whatever its the same thing". Good thing he's now my EX-boyfriend.

NICU nurse needing some advice
Maybe take the job in the NICU and apply to be a float nurse with your unit base being in the NICU? That way you still have the NICU that you love but can get experience in other things like Peds.

Finding my specialty
I would be willing to move to another state or city to get a job, but I would obviously much rather stay close to home to be near my family. Where I live I, there are so many hospitals around me that its almost overwhelming that I don't even know where to start

Advanced degree
I am interested in going for my masters. I am not sure if I want to do NP or CRNA yet. Would it be beneficial to just get my MSN and then go back later for NP/CRNA? Im wondering if having my MSN would lessen the credits and such for the NP/CRNA program or if it would be a waste of time and money

Finding my specialty
I am a current student nurse graduating in May of 2018, and I am having a hard time deciding on a specialty. I know a lot of hospitals you have to apply for specific units, so I'm trying to figure out what to do. I am going to be living in the southern nj/philly area. I am super interested in trauma, ICU, ED, and OR/peri-op. I know a lot of people suggest to start on med surg but I did an externship and multiple clinicals there and I definitely thrive in the more acute, critical care type setting. I am mainly conflicted between ICU and OR because I know for both ED and trauma it would be best to have more experience first. They are such different specialties....any feedback will be much appreciated and thank you in advance!!
