  1. @tcoop thank you! I hope you hear soon, the wait has been excruciating ?
  2. @tcoop I emailed a couple times with no response so I finally called the office today and they said they were still working on DNP decisions. Then just a bit ago I got a very informal looking email inviting me to interview (finally!!) but they were still working on times and such. Seems like they're just really behind for some reason, but they are still working on it!
  3. I don't remember ever getting an email but if you log into your my umn account there's a list of to do activities on canvas? Maybe that's what they were talking about
  4. Did anyone else apply for direct admission to the DNP? I'm disappointed in how much they have been pushing back decisions, I didn't think I'd still be waiting for admissions people in May ? On another note, does anyone know when we'll hear back about financial aid for the Master's?
  5. Still waiting too for aid. Did anyone else apply for direct admission to DNP?
  6. Hi daisychains11, I'm going to the University of Minnesota! My husband was accepted to a PhD there as well so we won't have to live apart during grad school, plus it's much cheaper. I also applied for dual admission to their DNP in midwifery so I'm hoping to streamline from their Master's into that program.
  7. I'm also giving up my spot in women's health, if anyone is waiting for that specialty. Good luck!
  8. Emails are out - I got in! I'm so excited to be accepting and to move to Minneapolis this fall. Still waiting to hear about MN-DNP direct admission but I've decided to accept regardless. Good luck to anyone waiting!
  9. Not yet, I'm getting so antsy! Other schools are requiring acceptance deposits and such starting March 1st so it's cutting it pretty close. UMN is my top choice though and I really hope we hear soon!
  10. Finally got an email; I am wait listed for midwifery ~ congrats to everyone who got in though!!! I don't think I will accept a spot on the wait list, however, since I am planning on accepting either Boston College or the University of Minnesota so hopefully it will move fast for anyone else waiting. For anyone on the wait list, remember that it means they do want you, they just don't have room yet (and that if they weren't choosing you for the program they would've given a firm no). So don't get your hopes down!
  11. Thank you! I guess I was in the right place, just no updates yet...
  12. Where is everyone finding this? Under application management?
  13. My first acceptance deadline (Boston College) is due March 1st and I didn't think it would be cutting it so close.... I'm just hoping they send decisions out by next week!
  14. My application was finalized Nov 12 because of some weird transcripts, though my application was still considered in by the priority deadline - and I just received my interview invitation for pre-specialty CNM! To be honest I was worried that it was getting too late and was losing hope of receiving an interview, but it seems they really do spread interviews out. Everyone still waiting for an interview, there's still plenty of time!
  15. FutureCNM8, glad to hear your interview went well! Did they seem like there would be any benefits to going to the interview in person, or were they good about doing it over the phone? Did they give any indication how many people applied (especially for CNM)? Thanks for sharing what you learned!
  16. Kat2197, this happened to me with some transcripts (see very stressed comment above). She told me that transcripts and letters could come in up to the 15th of November for my application to still be considered priorirty, so you have a couple days! Luckily they found my missing transcripts yesterday, thank goodness í ½í¹Œ Good luck with your recommendation!
  17. Did anyone receive a note that their transcripts weren't in? I turned mine in a month ago but recently found out they didn't receive two of them... today I finally found out that two of the transcripts I ordered were considered "unofficial" by admissions???? I have no idea why that would be, since I paid for them and had them sent through the national clearinghouse, but now I don't know what to do other than order more transcripts and pray they get there on time. Has anyone had this problem? I wish they would have told me this back when I sent them in and not after the deadline for priority applications has past...
  18. Darn, I was hoping they'd be earlier this year, but oh well. At Minnesota, I'm applying the MSN as well as direct admission to the DNP (midwifery), which is part of why I am so excited about UMN. I'm also applying to the direct-entry programs at Vanderbilt, U Penn, Boston College, and MGH. If I got the dual admission, UMN is my top choice! They have am amazing program for my husband (currently applying to pHD school) and I like that they offer a DNP instead of just a master's in the specialty.
  19. Do you what the timeline is going to be like this year for interviews and such? They moved the deadline to November last year and it seemed like interviews still happened pretty late, I wonder if they will be any earlier now that the deadline isn't as new.
  20. NPtoBe123, I work on a med-surg unit as a PCT, which has been great experience - but isn't related to my specialty, so I have similar questions. I've asked many schools if not having specialty-related healthcare experience is a problem and almost everyone says as long as you can articulate why you chose the specialty and that you understand what you are getting into (i.e. shadowing, talking with other providers) you should definitely apply! Not sure if this is true, but since BC requires 2 academic letters that makes me think they stress academic history a little more than others as well. Good luck!
  21. Hi everyone, I'm applying for the women's health program! Boston doesn't do interviews, right, we just wait to hear back?
  22. Hi, I'm also applying for next year! Thanks for starting a thread
  23. Hi all, good to finally see a board for this year! I also applied for next year's cycle in midwifery/women's health. Does anyone know a timeline for interviews?
  24. @LCSWtoPMHNP Thanks for the info! She did end up turning it in yesterday but my anxiety waiting for that email was through the roof... Should've given all my writers an earlier deadline than the real one for my own sanity. Either way, everything is green!!! Congrats everyone who made the priority deadline!! Does anyone know typically when start sending interview invites out?
