  1. First of all, the correct term is "personnel" not personal.
  2. Blass yur hart. Whut did a NURSIN Stoodent do to ye anyway? It luks 2 me lak you oubviously hav sum underlying issues with nu stoodents! :kiss
  3. OMG! I CANNOT believe what I have done! Please give ne your truthful opinion! I went for my Nursing interview this morning. The interviews (there were 2) remembered me by name. They spoke briefly with me, and remebred me from when I was accepted the first time. (I had to have a class that I did not have so I had to leave the program) Anyway, here is my stupid mistake! I noticied that the lady kept looking at my right shoulder. I am thinking to myself, well, my strap must have fallen so I figured it was better to let it stay theer than top reach in and pull it up in front fio the other interviewer who was a man. The interview ended and they told me I would have to retake a class that I had pulled a "D" in. Anyway, I go to my car and decide to look in the mirror and that is when I notice that my blouse was on INSIDE OUT!! It is a sheer blouse with a tank that goes underneath and dressy so I did not notice it this am. I had gotten my hair done, nails, etc. and then for this to happen! IT WOULD BE ALMOST FUNNY EXCEPT I AM MORTIFIED! WHAT should I do? Call and explain? Please tell me your Honest opinions!
  4. If you are saying that this is not possible I too witnessed almost an identical situation. The man would kick his feet and scream to be pulled up in the bed. He did die and to this day I regret that I did not witness to this man, but I was new on the job and TERRIFIED to go in his room. One of the Docs even said, He must be seeing the flames of Hell!
  5. When we were on the FIRST day on our FIRST clinical we were in our patient rooms. I was going down the hall to get some linen when a male student in my group called out to me from his room. He already had another female student in there feeling of this ladies pulse as they could not get any vital signs. I took one look at her felt her pulse and said, (You have probably guessed it) "I think she's dead!" I went to the Nurses station and got the nurse, the Doctor came and asked how long they were there, etc., etc. It was funny when it was over though not at the time but it broke us in!
  6. Well..... In my job I have the "priveledge" of accompanying patients to and in their Doctor appointments. This particular day I am with a lady who is going in for a pelvic exam. This lady is a very matter of fact woman who speaks seriously and non jokingly. (You will know why I am giving this piece of info. in a moment. bear with me.) She is on th table for the exam, stirrups and all, and the Doctor is doing the exam, The Nurse is on one side of her and I am, at this woman's request, holding her hand. The Dr. is really having a hard time, his face is turning slightly red as he is "inside" and palpating her abdomen. The Patient is grimacing and he finally says while still doing the job, " I am having a hard time finding the cervix." Calmly and plainly this woman says, "Probably cause I ain't got one no more." I have a good rapport with this Physician and Nurse and it was ALL I could do to contain myself for the sake of the Patient. The Doc's face was red as fire! (It's not like he didn't have her chart in front of him!)
  7. Aren't you glad ytou were thick skinned enough to not let that get you down? I know as a Nursing Student how that would really put the skids on alot of people. I applaude you for being for 29 years what someone else may have perceived as "the worst." Just goes to show that no one should make judgement calls so casually!
  8. What I am wondering is...Did your Clinical Instructor tell you IN FRONT of the others that "YOU WERE THE BEST STICKER"? And even if she did not, I can see her being encouraging in the things she says to the students but to tell one that she is the "BEST"? I would think this is very unprofessional for someone in her capacity of whose job it is to teach ALL the students. When I was doing my first clinicals teh Instructor held up my Care plans and told the other students, "Look at hers. THIS is how it is suppossed to be done!" Needless to say, I was embarrassed and there was resentment among the other students, even my friends but we got past it. I would NEVER do that to students! Not only did your instructor tell you that but she gave you this sense of.."I am the best." I don't meant to sound harsh, but this is how you came across to the reader of your post.
  9. Well, here is my story..I am just wanting your prayers and encouragement. I applied to a Nursing School two years ago, took the PSB test, Passed it with a high enough score to rate an interview out of 75 people (they only took 20). From that Interview I was selected to go into the Program. When I got to the orientatin meeting it came to their attention that I needed the Chemistry class because I was signed up for it. So I was dropped from the program. They were really sympathetic to me and asked me to come back in the Fall. I was so upset by this that I was determined to go to a Prestrigious University instead, even though I KNEW that I could NOT fit my job and family into their schedule. So I went, tried and made it through the first semester passing all my check offs but FAILED by 2 points! NOW I am reapplying to the same program that I chose in the first place and have just recently retook the PSB. I will know the results next week. Please think of me that all will go well. I sailed into this program the first time, sitting beside people who had tried 4 and 5 times before to pass this test. This time when the test was over there were 4 or 5 questions that I did not have time to answer and this "freaks me out" just a bit! Just remember me, Please! I know Nursing is in my blood! It is my calling......
  10. To RN 34TX I am sorry but I disagree with you that students should not read some threads/posts. THIS is what REAL LIFE is about. I feel that some people go into Nursing for the money and the "glamor" the RN title may hold and do not realize what actually being a Nurse really entails. Working in the profession of Nursing and posting things that happen in that line of work is educatonal in itself. I do agree with you that you sound "exclusive". Please allow the "education" for us students!
  11. It would seem to me that it would be better to move on than to "risk" a complaint on your work record. Good luck. I will be praying for you.
  12. After reading through this (I'm sorry, I just jumped when she asked how many police you were sleepinmg with!) this reminded me of that show that used to be on TV where pople were getting jobs as a joke and doing obnoxious things just to get fired! Wonder if she is auditioning for this? Or maybe she wants to get fired so she cand "draw a check?"
  13. WOW!! I actually stopped reading when you said she asked you how many in the police department you were sleeping with! HOW can you even speak to this person? This sounds like, I hate to be so blunt, but she is a sick twist and compulsive complainer. HOW does she treat the PATIENTS?!? She really needs help and she should be moved somewhere else!
