  1. Hi, I was accepted to the program and I have a question for any current student willing to answer. I am in a wedding in what will be the Friday of our 7th week. I saw online that Friday for your program is unscheduled, asynchronous, or lab, or clinical. Very vague. Can anyone tell me what that looks like/means? This is my really really close friend and I want to tell her sooner rather than later if I won't be able to attend. I know she is going to be just devastated. ?
  2. Correct. This is my third (and final). First time I was interviewed and they told me they actually fought about my application. Some wanted to accept me but committee ultimately decided not to because my recommender filled out the recommendation incorrectly. Felt it was unfair to other applicants. Second time was interview and waitlist. Told me I should improve on one specific aspect of my app to make me slightly more competitive, which I did. And this year….. no interview at all I guess?
  3. I submitted before the extended deadline as well. Actually didn't even realize they extended the deadline until I saw they werent accepting any CNM apps after the extension. It freaked me out thinking they werent accepting them AT ALL this year. They told me I was in the clear and would be reviewed fully. So not sure what the deal is…. Again, especially since I was waitlisted this year. Just seems so odd
  4. Im CNM/WHNP. They seem to be really impacted this year for that specialty so I thought it was just taking them awhile but that doesn’t seem to be the case since another person in that specialty got an invite. Is anyone planning on calling tomorrow if they don’t hear back? Not sure what to do LOL
  5. I haven’t gotten anything. An email or an update. Im assuming they let the acceptances out first and rejections out later? So weird considering I was on the waitlist last year and have gotten an interview each application cycle. Thankfully I got into Vanderbilt but really was hoping to get into Yale.
  6. Guys I have been sobbing for the last ten minutes. I am also in for CNM
  7. The past few years they released on the 22nd so I assume it’ll be the end of next week
  8. In past years, they have released in the evening. Regardless, lets all try to relax. Cant let this consume us
  9. I was just gonna say I know another school sends out interview invites like days before Christmas. I expect the same from Vandy. Being on “break” for the school will probably allow the admissions team to focus more on making decisions
  10. I believe it’s usually been closer towards a weekend. Like a Thursday/Friday
  11. I didn’t realize we had to specifically apply to their scholarships?? Shooooot. When was the deadline?! edit: didn’t realize we had to have a 3.5 ? I had a 3.47
  12. Just to add further confirmation, Vandy just got back to me! They said “Pre-specialty students will hear a decision before the holidays in December and there are no interviews for the program.” WILD! I don’t expect to get in since I’m applying for the most competitive specialty (CNM) LOL but still so cool to know how fast they’re getting decisions out!
  13. For sure!! Not upset if the decisions go out by then, just wild to know they can make full blown decisions so quickly when other schools can’t/don’t. I did email admissions to ask as well because this is so different than how they usually do things. A few years back, they did interview decisions in Dec. Then got rid of interviews and went to all decisions in Feb. If they release decisions in Dec, and make you accept/decline within a few weeks, imagine how that’ll impact the other decisions! People will have to pull out of their interviews
  14. I really can’t believe they’ll have decisions by December. That’s the fastest for all similar programs. Most programs will let you know if you are interviewing by Dec. To have read through all apps and have decisions made is wild. They must have everyone working quadruple overtime. I also wonder if that means the accepted have to accept within a few weeks? That would be so tough given other schools wouldn’t have even given out decisions yet
  15. I never got an email that my app was ready for review… I also applied by priority. I applied a couple other years before priority and it was always a Feb decision. I didn’t do an online session this year. Are they doing interviews and that’s what they’re releasing in Dec?! I can’t imagine them getting through ALL apps for Dec decisions. That sounds like so much! I wonder if they recorded those online info sessions
  16. Hi folks. First time applying and im not sure if I want to apply for Fall or Spring. However, if I apply to fall, and end up wanting to change, am am I able to defer to Spring? Does anyone know? Thanks!
  17. Thank you for letting those of us on the waitlist know! Fingers crossed spots open for those of us anxiously waiting.
  18. From the website, we could technically not hear a response until May 15. Those admitted have to accept/decline by March 1. However, admissions told me most of them have already claimed their spot so not very hopeful, myself :/
  19. Yale does placements for students as well. However, one thing I noticed in the dual program outline was that dual students are not guaranteed to graduate in may due to clinical placements. I believe that was the curriculum footnotes pre-COVID. They have a hard time getting the placements they need to get them graduated on time. I did ask my interviewer about that as well and she said with COVID, placements for duals have been hard but they are working on getting all of their dual students placed in time. Last year they took on less new dual students in order to make clinical room for the students further along. This is something that has definitely worried me about Yale's program.
  20. I emailed the general nursing admissions email. It’s on the website. They have not gotten back to me and I emailed days ago ?. Jana is no longer with YSN ? she’s still with Yale but not nursing. She suggested I reach out to admissions with any questions
  21. I think I speak for all of us waitlisters when I ask, nay, BEG, for those of you admitted to please let us know if you decide to give up your spot! I am NM/WHNP.
  22. Also, would like to know if waitlisters are given opportunity to do the admitted students day. I would hate to miss the experience only to get in the next week or whatever!
  23. Can anyone give any insight on how fast the waitlist moves? I am from the west coast and want to know if I could know by this week or in a few months from now. Also, would like to know if waitlisters are given opportunity to do the admitted students day. I would hate to miss the experience only to get in the next week or whatever!
  24. Waitlist for me. Anyone know how fast it moves? ? Being on the west coast, I really want to know sooner rather than later if I am going to be attending....
