  1. Hey - I just got an email for an interview next week, I have selected a day, Wednesday, waiting to hear back. When is yours this week, goodluck! Hopefully we can both get in for Fall, I believe we would have some classes together.
  2. That is really great to hear, hard to connect with anyone, being from Ontario, to get an idea of the environment of the program. And yes, once accepted, I have until the end of first year to have get a MI licence, I believe it is called LARA where I will apply for it online. I have been told it will be easier for me, as I wrote the NCLEX when Canada switched over, so I hope it doesn't take very long. Thanks again for the insight, I hope your interview goes great, sending you positive vibes!!
  3. The acute care stream. Do you know anyone in the program? And if they have enjoyed their experience?
  4. Okay, that makes more sense now, thanks for clarification! Did you apply to the acute or primary stream of the program ? Good luck next week!!!
  5. Hi thanks for responding, and congrats !! Sorry, what do you mean by applied on the deadline day, I had thought that the deadline for Fall was in June, or am I confused? Also, how was the interview ? If you don't mind sharing. Was the interview held on the campus or were you offered phone/video interview? I ask primarily because I'm actually a a Canadian applicant so I am wondering if they offer that choice for long distance applicants. Thank you!!!
  6. Hi there, I am hoping you still utilize this webpage, as I am hoping you could answer some questions for me regarding the Masters Interview. 1. Did you have it on campus or over the phone or video call? I applied, but I am in Canada so I am just wondering if they have you options. 2. You stated it was only three questions, do you mind sharing, or proving me some guidance on how you prepared. 3. How are you liking the program so far? Thank you!!! I would greatly appreciate it.
  7. Hi there, I have also applied to WSU for their peds program. I was told that once all your files are in and your application is complete, it takes about two weeks. However, I read an old thread where it seemed to take more like 2 months. Have you heard back
  8. Hi, thank you so much for replying!! To clarify, what I meant was if I need to apply for a masters and apply again for a specialization, but I figured that out and I wrote it in a very confusing way. Also, do you mind sharing how you are finding the online program? How does the clinical portion work? I have looked into some but do not really know how to gauge if they are good, do you mind sharing which one you have selected or perhaps top three in Michigan that you know of. Also, did you have a high gpa? I really appreciate you answering my thread, it is hard to really make this application process as I know no one in nursing in MI. A million and one thank yous!!!
  9. Hi there, I am a Canadian RN who is attempting to complete masters/np in MI. I am finding it hard to find info similar to my situation, so if anyone has any info or can answer some of my questions- I would seriously greatly appreciate it! 1. What is really the difference between applying to a masters and then a masters/np program. In Canada, the route/schooling to become an NP is different so a clarification between these two would be great!! 2. How competitive/hard is it to get into a masters/np program in Michigan? I am specifically looking at Wayne State/ OU due to the specialization programs they offer. 3. Do they accept Canadian applicants for the most part? I have heard they do, but I am wondering if there are any current Canadians doing their masters/np in MI that can provide me with advice!! Again, any info or experiences would help me out. Hope to hear back from anyone!!
