  3. I keep hearing that "clerks don't learn much" but many of my friends have said that it has helped them a lot through their school. I just wasn't sure how it appears later on when i put it on my resume, when I'm hopefully an RN.
  4. Nursing, like for many others, is my second career. I've got a 10 years stable work history already behind me. I also understand that "nursing experience" comes from a nursing gig, but I'm trying to get a position that I can qualify for to get as much experience and exposure as possible.
  5. Hey guys! I am currently a nursing student who also works 1 shift a week as an EKG technician in the hospital. Obviously, with this job my scope is very limited though I get exposure throughout the entire hospital. I eventually want to specialize in ICU or ED care and know that experience is key so I've applied to an ED Clerk position but I'm not entirely confident that I'll get the experience I need while sacrificing my very flexible schedule. Does anyone have any insight on this for me? TIA!
  6. Hi! I realize this is an old thread but I'm in Tucson too and having trouble finding externships. Where would you suggest looking?
  7. Thanks you guys! I appreciate the information. I am trying to find summer opportunities but they appear to be lacking in Tucson and most I find are listed in PHX. Are there websites or sources that could help me better locate these programs?
  8. Hi guys! I need a little help understanding the difference between and externship and internship. I also have no idea how to look for these opportunites! Can anyone lead me a place to start? Im also looking into the VA VALOR Progeam but I dont think it's offered in Tucson. Again, any help is appreciated! Thanks!
  9. I was seated in a BSN program and was wondering if I could get some information from you guys about how you used your Chapter 31? I currently am using my Chap 33 for a community college to finish my nursing program pre-reqs this semester

I'm just too excited to know!! I applied to Tucson campus, second time and super nervous! My KAPLAN was only an 88 (the writing portion always gets me for some reason) Did anyone apply anywhere else?
