  1. Stay at essex. The survival rate of students at ucc in very low!! Poor teaching methods too!!!
  2. In this school if someone has it in for you, or if they don't like your personality your gone. I had the dean for 131, and we didn't get along. Since then I have had nothing but problems at this school.
  3. A friend of mine had a previous history of drug abuse. Even has a criminal record for drugs arrest - long before she started her schooling. She had a hard time proving her soberity to the board of nursing when she went for her license. She had to go through a rehab program and provide proof of this. Eventually she did get her license, and is now working as an RN.
  4. sounds like some good advice. tx:idea:
  5. Don't be so excited. I was a trinitas student until I was recently failed by my clinical instructor. I was told I can appeal my grade and come back to the program if I wish. I don't wish to do that. This is a program that is very expensive, and has a passing rate of less than 15-25%. I was in the third class, which most people don't even make it too! I had the dean as one of my clinical instructors and we did not hit it off. Since then I have had nothing but problems there! Their teachers are not helpfull at all, and are even nasty at times!! I've spoken to other students at other schools and the passing rate is far better there. Take my advice and go somewhere else!!!!
  6. Not disgusted, but saddened! People come into the hospital for treatment. If you have a drug addiction, there is treatment for it! I had a patient last semester that was on vent for three months - caused by a heroin overdose. When they finally plugged the tracheostomy and took him off the vent, I was left in the room to monitor his vitals. After 3 months of not being able to speak, this guy looked at me and said "I don't know how I got here - I stopped doing drugs ten years ago. He is not only denying his addiction, but playing with his life. The next time he might not wake up! This guy has four little kids.
  7. where is this program located in new jersey?
  8. Hey all, I was in nursing 132 up until they gave me a clinical failure. I am appealling the grade and will win (I have documentation from the hospital). But I don't want to go back. The majority of students don't make it passed 131, and even fewer make it out of the program. (About 15%). I am currently going to take the entrance exam for two other schools. I have spoken to other nursing students in other schools and the passing rate is much better. The classes at UCC are very expensive. Don't waste your money, go somewhere else.
  9. I was also attending UCC up until two months ago. My clinical instructor decided to fail me in clinical for a bogus reason. I'm appealing the grade, and will win (I have hospital print out of my proof). But I don't want to go back there. The freshmen class starts with over 180 students and the last class finishes with less than 30. This means that most people don't finish for one reason or another. If they don't like you, you will be forced out!! I'm am currently taking the entrance exam for two other schools, knowing I don't want to go back there!
