  1. I have never done that, but would not recommend it. You're an RN work as one. I have my ASN it took me about 40 days to find my job. Look into long-term care facilities. How many jobs have you applied to and how long you've been looking?
  2. The problem might be with cover letter and or resume. I would recommend asking someone to read it (preferably a nurse) or even post it on here to proofread it and recommend changes. Another tip is to go to a resume workshop my school had one it was super helpful I managed to get a job a month after I got my license. By the way, I live NY (Queens) the job in long-term care I have now requires me going over a bridge or 2 hours on public transportation. If you can't absolutely can't find a job try a staffing agency like White Glove, they hire fast. However, there's no union, barely any benefits, low pay. Good luck! - Had a mistake in the previous comment don't know how to edit or delete it.
  3. Hi Jenna I never applied to Suffolk, however, did (almost) apply to Queensborough Community College (QCC) nursing program. The reason I did not do it because they told me to apply in Spring 2016... They said that to me in Fall of 2014 with me having a GPA of 3.65 some of my prerequisites done with experience working at nursing home. Because SUNY and CUNY have affordable tuition and good reputations make they VERY compative. I know at QCC accepted around 100 applications out 1000's. Your GPA and having most or all your non-nursing classes done will hopefully get you in. Try to see if there's an open house for the nursing program and ask them what percentage of students get accepted and finish. Hope this is helpful and good luck!

  5. Hello everyone, I just got my first nursing job they require pastel color scrubs and white pants. I have the white scrub pants leftover from nursing school. I bought cheap (and ugly) scrubs the other day. I bought the bare minimum I needed, but I want better quality scrubs with decent shipping time. Which brands would you recommend to buy online?Looking forward to the recommendations. :) P.S I need tops with at least two pockets, small to medium in size, and not in mint green.
  6. Acycorms are very useful (there's a couple for the cranial nerves). For me, I have to see it to understand it. So if I am studying the GI system I need pictures (google is great). If it's memorizing microscope slides of let's say the types cells or whatever I use to make screen savers of the cells with labels on my laptop XD. Hope this helps!
