  1. Is there a mississippi component in the program? I was not aware of this, thank you for the heads up. I have heard they have a good program. Do you know when they will start interviewing.
  2. I to am thinking about applying to the program next year. The weather there is nice and hot. I sure will like to get away from the cold and move to somewhere nice and toasty. Good luck!
  3. I agree keep you mouth shot, have you ever heard about envy, well people start to envy you if they think you will be leaving them for a better lot in life. Turst don't tell one person, unless you want everyone to know.
  4. Thank you much for the details, I truly appreciate your kind assistance. Those personality interviews are the hardest since you leave the interview not knowing if you have what they are looking for. Thanks for the tips
  5. I think you and your husband need to sit down and have a candid discussion about kids and your career goals, just remember woment have having kids at older ages lately, but also the longer you wait the more likely you may encounter problems. If you do decide to have kids be sure you have a great support system becuase speaking as a mother of several kids you will need a great support system.
  6. The programs range from 24 - 36 months. The average salary is 100,000 per year. The hours range from four 10 hours per week, five 8 hour shift per week, or the typical three 12 hour shifts. Remember you can always talk about your hours in your interview.
  7. I to am in the process of appling to CRNA programs, are you saying that I need to pay off my BSN loans first before I can obtain another loan? I guess I should contact my loan company and ask this question. Thanks for making me think about this.
  8. I interveiwed there in Sep 2008, the interview was very informal, the deadline is some time in Dec, but I guess they start interviewing early this year. It is a really some town, if you don't like some towns then this program may not be for you. Just something to consider when you are appling to programs.
  9. I have been to only one interview so far at Excela to begin 2009. It was a panel interview. Before the interview starts you meet with a current SRNA in the program, the student is very friendly they try to get you to relax. the panel was the assistant director and several CRNA's, they really try to make you feel comfortable. There is also a short test, it was general in nature more like med surgical. Hope this helps.
  10. Congrats to you, I know that you must be feeling great right about now. I have applied to several CRNA programs, had one interview so far and I simply can not image how I will feel when I get my acceptance letter. Lets just say words will not be able to express my feelings.
  11. There arey several schools that don't require the GRE, I would like to suggest that you obtain that list and focus on applying to those schools. Because as we all know the GRE is not really a good indicator on how well students are prepared for grad school. Just a thought.
  12. I'm applying to U. of Cincinnati, Georgetown, MSA, U of scranton, and Kaiser. Good luck to everyone.
  13. Could you please tell me who is having an open house? Don't know if I missed it but I am always interesting in open houses. I live in the northeast. Thank you for the info I really appreciate the help.
  14. I have a friend who interviewed at memorial hospital of Rhode Island and she said the interview was very informal which included a tour of the OR and they told her she will hear from them by the end of this week ending 12/12/08. Hope this helps you guys.
  15. there is definately a rivalary between CRNA's and anesthesiologists. CRNA's are definately the ones that appear to come out on top in this scenario. They do have less debt to repay and have even less responsibility. I observed some anesthesiologists attempting to belittle CRNA's but usually the CRNA's handle them pretty well. In any event I am do not wish to pursue the MD route, CRNA is what I really want to do.
