Taking a paycut for experience?
The one regret I have as a nurse is pursuing jobs for the pay benefit alone and not for gaining new experiences and knowledge. I have been a nurse for over 20 years and regret not pursuing jobs like ICU and ER, where I could gain more knowledge. The more experience you have in complicated areas, the more marketable you are. Sadly, at my age, I have not been able to find a job in those areas because they want younger nurses - new graduate nurses. Just a thought.....

Starting Pre-Req’s at age 37
I am not in this particular boat, but I did decide to return to college to complete my BS in Sociology, then my ADN and most recently my BSN and I am 47. You can do it. Take 1 class at a time to get use to the new format of courses (online portion). Study, study, study and if you have children, find a good support system to allow you time to study. You can do it - just keep going!
