  1. No, I haven't either. I know other departments started hearing back like MICU
  2. Did anyone hear back from Intermediate ICU, TICU/SICU?
  3. Payrates effective 6/24/2024 Benefited Clinical Nurse I = $70.319 and after 6 months step 2 $73.834 Extra help Clinical Nurse I = $65.432 Payrates effective 10/28/2024 Benefited Clinical Nurse I = $72.780 and after 6 months step 2 $76.418 Extra help Clinical Nurse I = $67.712
  4. I don't think so because, at the end of the interview, they talked about how rejection is part of the process and to keep applying. They stated the competitiveness of the application process with 1000 applicants applying.
  5. Did anyone present their slides in less than 10 minutes? I timed mine and it is around seven minutes.
  6. They posted a timeline in their webinar. It looks like they will send out offers from 12/7 - 12/22.
  7. I received an interview invite for the South Bay! (Santa Clara, San Jose).
  8. What kind of inpatient RN experience do you have?
  9. Does anyone know which locations are the most and least competitive to get into?
  10. I talked to one of the admissions person and he said that we will hear back at the end of March or beginning of April which I think is last minute since the Summer program starts in May.
  11. I am currently making a list of the ABSN programs I am interested in and I believe the attrition rate/graduation rate is important because it shows how much the program wants students to be successful. I was talking to one program coordinator and they told me that they don't give out that information. Other times, I email a program with a bunch of questions and they tend to skip the graduation rate question. Why don't ABSN programs like to disclose their graduation rate and is that a red flag?
  12. Do you think you know why you were not accepted?
  13. Has anyone gone to the information session or is planning on going?
  14. Are there two deadlines? I saw on the website that the deadline is January 15th.
  15. Does anyone know what the admissions place the most emphasis on? Do they place the most emphasis on your GPA, pervious healthcare experience, or your GRE score?
  16. Have you ever thought about becoming a PA?
  17. It usually states on the schools website about their prerequisite policy. Many will take 1 or 2 outstanding perquisites in progress, it really depends on the school.
  18. Everyone made some good suggestions. What I do for many of my classes, is that I practice book questions before I take my tests. I get a practice book(from the library most of the times) related to the exam material and just practice questions.
  19. If you don't have a bachelors in nursing then you can also do a direct entry msn program because it's for people that want to become nurses that majored in something else. If you are a RN then you need to have some experience before you become a nurse practitioner.
  20. Does your wife know anyone that works at a hospital or medical practice, so she can get your foot in the door. Or maybe she should take a CNA position where they are receptionists and unit clerks and eventually transition into one of those jobs.
  21. I just recently learned about direct entry programs and wonder what these programs look for when they accept an applicant. Is the GPA biggest factor or is it the healthcare experience or GRE score. Any input from students who were accepted into a direct entry would be helpful.
  22. It really depends on the program. Some programs look at GPA while others look at healthcare experience. It is best to look at the website for the statistics of the accepted students and if you can't find any then you should email the program.
